Hello I'm trying to extrude a font from a surface. First using a sketch, adding the text, lining it up over-head where I want it and negatively extrude from surface. But when I go to perform the extrusion I am encountered with this error. I changed around a few setting and it turns out that it doesn't like this font, which is unfortunate because this is a very specific font.

So I tried it with a different font, and that didn't work. So I exploded the text for Arial font. It would let me extrude the hole in a capital "A" from the surface but would not let me extrude just the letter. I had to extrude both the letter and hole the extrude in the other direction the hole.

SO then I tried it with my font. Gotham Rounded Light. It cannot explode the text. Something about it, it just doesn't like the text. I tried installing both OpenType and True type of that font to no avail.

Once you've completed your purchase. Download the font pack and install. The font should then be available in the drop down list of fonts on your next Acrobat restart. You can refer to this article here for installation: How do you install new fonts to Adobe Acrobat Pro XI?

You might have a Type 1 version of Gotham. Support for Type 1 fonts ended in Photoshop with version 23.0. They will be phased out in all Adobe products January 2023.

Best get OTF versions of your font library before then.

In January 2005, Print magazine commissioned a rounded version of the Tobias Frere-Jones typeface for its redesign. Assumably, the year of exclusivity has passed and Gotham Rounded is now available to the general public.

Founded in 2002, Typographica is a review of typefaces and type books, with occasional commentary on fonts and typographic design. Edited by Stephen Coles and Caren Litherland and designed by Chris Hamamoto.

Up until a few years ago, Flash used to render fonts poorly at small sizes. Most authors worked around this limitation by changing the type of anti-aliasing used when displaying fonts. Flash provides two anti-aliasing options, one for readability and the other for animation. Additionally, Flash also allows the author to disable anti-aliasing altogether, and use aliased bitmap fonts. Flash 8 introduced a new rendering engine that vastly improved the quality of small-type text.

This aliased look is acceptable for some fonts, such as Verdana, that have reasonable bitmap representations at small sizes. However, for many fonts the result is unacceptable, such as this sample of Cheltenham at 10 point (from Flash set to bitmap, not Flex):

Hi, new here. I didn't post this on beginners section 'cause I've been using Inkscape for a while now and didn't encounter this issue before. I have a font, Gotham Rounded, font is displayed correctly on other softwares but only on Inkscape, being on Linux or Windows (just checked this because I thought it'd be a Linux issue) it does not display two of the variables and it displayes a "Book" as weight=325 a "Normal" as Bolld and does not display a Medium. On all of the other softwares that I use they get displayed correctly.

It is also not uncommon for fonts to be mis-named internally. In either case, the font can be renamed using FontForge, so that it has its own family and can be accessed as a different font, rather than a variant of Gothic Rounded. This may present issues if the design will be used in applications that will be looking for that specific font (not a problem if converting text to paths).

I haven't tried it specifically, but changing the font size to 300 may satisfy the standard and expose the variant properly within Inkscape. (A recent similar topic had a font from Google that was described as 300, but was 350 and it got ignored.) I did "fix" a font where the weight did not correspond with the weight-name.

@doctormo @TylerDurden I know this happens with FOSS but it's so essential having font display the right way. Different would be that I wanted Inkscape to be controlled with a joystick, that would be out of place. I went with the FontForge "solution" I had not one but two fonts that did not display properly, had to re-arrange their properties with FontForge, generate every font on the family, hope it does not happen with other fonts.

Honestly it sounds like either a pango or inkscape feature... and I don't mean "this isn't a problem"... I mean, coping with fonts that have strange and maybe even broken meta data is a feature that can be added to code. I'd review the hell out of that merge request if it ever gets made.

Surely the answer has to be, at least broadly, that modules can look like fundamental, ie can have the same colour and use the same font. There are some modules in the library that are very obviously based on the fundamental modules but use different colours etc.

I do not see your website and I cannot comment about it. We do not have special rules specific to Russian language to change the font. I believe the chances are very low that your theme has specific CSS code for Russian language as well.

My company wants us to use the font Gotham for our print advertising. I do not believe the pages app comes with Gotham as a choice. I am assuming there is a way I can purchase the font. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Since creation, Gotham has been highly visible due to its appearance in many notable places.[7] This has included Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, Michigan State University branding,[8] and the 2016 federal election campaign of the Australian Labor Party.[9] The font has also been used on the cornerstone of the One World Trade Center in New York. It is also the current font used in MPA title cards for film trailers in the U.S.

Developed for professional use, Gotham is an extremely large family, featuring four widths, eight weights, and separate designs for screen display and a rounded version. It is published by Hoefler & Co., the company of Frere-Jones' former business partner Jonathan Hoefler.[10] Companies that notably use the font are Taco Bell, Golf Galaxy, ABS-CBN Corporation (ABS-CBN Entertainment, ABS-CBN News, ABS-CBN Sports, the television network of the same name, and some subsidiaries such as Star Magic), The Cartoon Network, Inc. (Cartoon Network, Cartoon Network Productions, and Cartoon Network Studios), and formerly in the logos for Discovery, Inc. and ViacomCBS, currently Paramount Global.

Frere-Jones' inspiration for the typeface came from time spent walking block-by-block through Manhattan with a camera to find source material,[12] and he based the font on the lettering seen in older buildings, especially the sign on the Eighth Avenue faade of the Port Authority Bus Terminal. "I suppose there's a hidden personal agenda in the design," Frere-Jones said, "to preserve those old pieces of New York that could be wiped out before they're appreciated. Having grown up here, I was always fond of the 'old' New York and its lettering."[12]

Early materials for the 2008 Obama campaign used the serif Perpetua. Later, however, upon hiring John Slabyk and Scott Thomas, the campaign made the change to Gotham, and the font was used on numerous signs and posters for the campaign.[16]

Observers of the primary and general elections compared Obama's design choices favorably to those made by his opponents. In her campaign, Hillary Clinton used New Baskerville, a serif used by book publishers, law firms and universities, while John McCain used Optima, the same font used for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.[17][20] It also has to be noticed that while the Obama campaign material still used the Perpetua typeface, the short-lived John Edwards campaign was already using Gotham Ultra.[21]

Philippine media conglomerate ABS-CBN Corporation, the television network of the same name, conglomerate's divisions such as ABS-CBN Entertainment, ABS-CBN News, ABS-CBN Sports, and ABS-CBN Foundation use the Gotham typeface since September 9, 2013 as one of the main fonts along with Azo Sans starting on a variation of ABS-CBN Entertainment (later ABS-CBN Studios from 2024) logo in 2021, with the Rotis typeface continued to be used on the ABS-CBN text as the modified version of the said font. It was first used as the company's secondary typeface when its soon-to-be 2014 logo originally launched as secondary logo as part of 60th anniversary of the namesake television network on the said date of September 2013 and then became the primary typeface when the 2014 ABS-CBN logo now became the primary logo on January 1, 2014.[29][30] It is notably used on logos of Kapamilya Channel (launched on 13 June 2020) and A2Z Channel 11 (launched on 6 October 2020). Since 2021, Azo Sans is used as another main font by the company along with Gotham. 0852c4b9a8
