If I go to any genre and look at their home page, I get new albums, top 10 singles, top 10 albums, and staff picks; however, this is no longer available for the Christian & Gospel genre. Does anyone know if this is a bug, intentional, or a change in the works? I am saddened, especially since the last 2 number 1 releases and albums in iTunes and Billboard's Top 200 were Christian albums. I mention this to give validity to the genre as a desired music style.

This is a genre I use a lot and millions of others use. Why has it been removed and is it possible to get it back? If not it will be too difficult to purchase music on here and I will have to move across to a different platform.

I wanted to look for some new music and the Christian & Gospel genre is gone. What happened? If you feel like it is not a viable genre, I am very saddened, especially since the no. 1 albums in all of iTunes for the past 3 weeks were Christian albums. Can you tell me why it is gone, is it coming back, and what are you doing to the genres. Please, please do not take it away!

Just out of curiosity, is this where you buy your Christian music? On that note, I think it is highly suspect that the largest distributor of music will not support the AMA or Grammy genres for awards. This seems to isolate a unique genre for unknown reasons that some folks have very strong, angry, and even projected hostility toward. Religion is an especially sensitive topic for some, and that is understandable. I respect that; however, this is a genre that has been around a long time and the last 2 number 1 albums (Toby Mac and Lecrae on the Billboard Top 200) were Christian artists.

I find it disheartening that they would remove the Christian & Gospel homepage, as it is always nice to see this type of music in a central location. I regularly go there to buy sub-genre types of Christian & Gospel like Praise and Worship. Seeing new artists and album covers really help promote and sell the music.

I will indeed be going to their stores to find out the artist, but it is still unreasonable. I made a 100% commitment to iTunes for all of my family's and my music. I do not own a CD to my name. All of my music is in ACC format, so a deviation would be huge.

Many arguments (even arguments and complaints made in the Apple forums) are that the Christian & Gospel genre offends people. Why can't I equitably make the same argument that sexually overtoned music and anti-faith values music offend me? The argument appears to only go one way, so I am skeptical of such illogical arguments.

Needless to say, I think the move is quite unacceptable in light of history and the volume this music sells. If Apple were to develop some tool to make a musical home page based on user preferences and likes, that superseded all genres, then I would be more inclined to embrace. I essentially need a home page that displays when new artists and styles become available. I think an intelligent engine could do so, but it really should be equitable for all. Just my 2 cents and respectfully...

Some readers asked about the use of these instruments in other areas of liturgy. An American music director commented: "Just wanted to let you know I have my entire sheet-music library on the iPad and now use it exclusively in the celebration of the holy sacrifice of the Mass as part of the music ministry. I didn't even give it a second thought. If someone were to tell me that it would be used in place of the missal by the priest, I'd really have to think about that. If it were the only option, God would want his Word proclaimed."

Although our reader did not touch on this point, it is worthwhile remembering that while the playback functions of these tools may be used to help learn unknown hymns in rehearsals, the Church's longtime prohibition on the use of any form of recorded music in the liturgy would not allow for their use during the celebration itself.

Genuine. This would be the word best fitting to describe The Mylon Hayes Family. With their close family harmony and friendly, modest manner, they never cease to disappoint on the stage and off. I recently had the opportunity to interview Conner Hayes, the bass singer of The Mylon Hayes Family. Prior to this, I had the chance to converse with him and his siblings at the North Georgia School of Gospel Music and get to know them a little better. As a third generation singer in his family, it is quite obvious with his amazing piano playing and singing skills that the music gene did not skip his generation, but piano playing and singing are not his only passions. He also enjoys playing the drums and baseball. At 19 years of age, Conner Hayes has already made a huge impact for the Lord through Southern Gospel Music, and I am sure there is much more to anticipate in the future.

LMV stands for Live-Midi-Video. The LMV file uses an algorithm that combines Both Midi Data and Video Data and displays both the midi piano notes AND the video at the same time. So it is perfect to use to watch your favorite musician perform while looking at the notes in Real-Time!!

A really good LMV file would be hard to find and very expensive, however, as one of the top transcribers in the Gospel Music Industry, I have personally created music files for the best gospel performing artists on this website. You can download these files to your computer and it will be like carrying around your own pocket instructor!

The benefit of using music files and technology is that it can greatly speed up the time it takes for you to learn songs. You will spend less time struggling to find chords and notes on your own. If you have the LMV to a song you can watch and copy the notes you see on the screen. You can pause the song at the chord that you really need, copy the notes, and resume learning the song at a pace that fits you.

Keep in mind that LMV files should be a small part of your strategy in your journey to music excellence. Be sure you also have a way to learn the fundamentals as well. But the LMV files are a huge piece of the puzzle that will help you become a Master Musician!
