"Services International has partnered with the Indian Institute of Fire Engineers (India) to discover possible industry trend-setters. It's time to shine a light on accomplishments and give credit where credit is due!The Innovation Awards 2022 will honor individuals, organizations, and teams for their contributions to instilling innovation and quality in their services.

Our entire focus is on recognising companies that are developing solutions that will benefit the fire safety, life safety, disaster management, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industries and enable users to do a better job.

The awards will be given to innovations that have been developed in the last two years (by 2020). Any product in the early stages of development can be submitted as long as it is available at the event.

On 2 December, more than 200 Shiv Sainiks stormed a Cinemax theatre in suburban Goregaon in Mumbai,[12] smashing glass panes, burning posters and shouting slogans.[13][14] They compelled managers to refund tickets to moviegoers. On 3 December, a Regal theatre in Delhi was similarly stormed. Mina Kulkarni, one of the Delhi protesters explained the reasoning behind their actions: "If women's physical needs get fulfilled through lesbian acts, the institution of marriage will collapse, reproduction of human beings will stop".[10] Bajrang Dal workers with lathis invaded Rajpalace and Rajmahal in Surat, breaking up everything in sight and driving away frightened audiences. Some of the rioters set fire to theatres screening the film.[15]

The mission of the Division of Wildland Fire Management is to execute our fiduciary trust responsibility by protecting lives, property, and resources while restoring and maintaining healthy ecosystems through cost-effective and creative fire-management programs, collaboration, and promoting Indian self-determination.

Uniquely, the BIA promotes self-determination and self-governance with federally-recognized Tribes through Public Law 93-638, which allows those Tribes to operate federal programs, such as wildland fire management programs, as their own to meet Tribal and BIA missions.

The BIA cooperates with other federal, state, county, local government, and Tribal governments to ensure the success of wildland fire management for BIA federal trust lands, providing interagency wildland fire assistance, and assisting with federally-declared disasters through emergency support functions.

Services for Tribal Nations include, but are not limited to, protection of federal trust resources, life, property, and infrastructure. Also, services provide ecosystem improvements, wildland firefighter and safety training, firefighter equipment, fuels management and prescribed fire, fire prevention and ecosystem support such as post-wildfire recovery.

The BIA National Fire Leadership Team, consisting of regional fire management officers and divisional staff, works together to communicate policy and program changes and inform the National Fire Leadership Team members of regional, Tribal and agency fire-related needs and concerns.

People from the neighbourhood were gathered outside the building, including the driver of the house next door who had made the call to the Police Control Room. A call had also been made to the fire department, just five minutes away, but no fire truck had arrived yet.

Farmers often use fire to return nutrients to the soil and to clear the ground of unwanted plants. While fire helps enhance crops and grasses for pasture, the fires also produce smoke that degrades air quality. The smoke released by any type of fire (forest, brush, crop, structure, tires, waste or wood burning) is a mixture of particles and chemicals produced by incomplete burning of carbon-containing materials. All smoke contains carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and particulate matter or soot and is hazardous to breathe.

UL Standards & Engagement is proud to serve as the knowledge partner for the 6th Fire & Security India Expo - the flagship event of the Fire & Security Association of India and Nova Exhibitions and Conferences. FSIE is an ideal forum where invention and engineering come to the forefront to create a specialized and focused event for the fire and security industry.

This live demo of an electric vehicle battery fire will provide hands-on experience of EV fire mitigation, to help evolve guidelines for first responders. When exposed to off-nominal conditions, lithium-ion cells can go into thermal runaway, leading to smoke, fire, and high temperatures that can propagate to other cells in a battery module or pack. Efficient fire protection and suppression methods are thus critical to minimize the hazards associated with li-ion battery failure events. India saw many EV fires in 2022, and as these vehicles use Lithium-ion batteries, the fire mitigation and first responders need to be trained to address these battery fires. This demonstration will be conducted by the Maharashtra Fire Services with support from the Electrochemical Safety Research Institute of UL Research Institutes and FSAI.

On August 25, ULSE, in partnership with Bureau of Indian Standards, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Maharashtra Fire Services, and FSAI, will host the NFRRM with the goal of developing a timebound action plan to address the new safety challenges associated with emerging technologies. The conference will feature an interactive Manthan (brainstorm) session for fire safety officers and stakeholders to develop a roadmap in building Surakshit Bharat (a safe, secure, and sustainable India). Through discussions on global best practices, NFRRM will drive collaborative efforts to equip technologically enabled fire safety officers and stakeholders for addressing operational challenges.
