There are lots of other websites that offer free audiobooks that you can download through torrent websites. However, you should know that while that method of sharing books (or anything, like music and movies) may seem completely fine, it's normally illegal in most countries and is typically considered an unsafe method for sharing files since it's a common way to transmit malware.

These services allow you to download audiobooks, ebooks, and some video and music, which you can play on your computer or a compatible portable device or ereader. The New Hampshire Downloadable Books Consortium was established to help New Hampshire public libraries provide digital materials to their patrons. The digital collection is comprised of fiction and nonfiction eBooks, audiobooks and popular magazines, which aims to mirror the popular physical collections found in NH public libraries. Digital materials are selected with consideration of patron demand, popularity, availability, and cost of the materials. If you purchased books or audiobooks from the Book Store or Audiobook Store on other devices, you can download and see those purchases on your Mac. You can also download books and audiobooks purchased by family members (if you use Family Sharing) and get updates.

For audiobook reviews, check out AudioFile, a website that focuses only on audiobooks. Originally founded in 1992 as a consumer magazine, it is chock-full of reviews, articles, and blog posts on audiobooks of all genres, and for all ages.

The site writes about different audiobook narrators, and includes samples of their voices and their work. Great narrators are recognized with the "Golden Voice" award, and audiobooks that have received rave reviews are given the site's "Earphones Award". Looking for your next book? Next time you visit the library, check out NoveList Plus, one of the many NYPL databases you can use to find a book. You can browse by audiobook, or get recommendations based on books you have enjoyed before. Heyworth Public Library offers eBooks and downloadable audiobooks that can be checked out by library users that live in the Heyworth Public Library District using your barcode and PIN number. Please call the library if you need login assistance.

The library offers two collections of digital eBooks and audiobooks: Libby, by Overdrive, Axis360, and hoopla. Each collection is accessible through apps for your smartphones and tablets. Each digital media collection allows five (5) checkouts at a time.

While many patrons find it easiest to download audiobooks to their cell phones, this may be a problem if you plan to use your cell phone as a GPS or mapping tool on the same trip. If that is the case, make a plan to use a tablet or another passenger's phone to store your audiobook.

While many cars made in the last decade allow phones and tablets to connect to their stereo systems via blue tooth, you'll still want to test the connection in advance. In some older cars with blue tooth connectivity, the audio from your device may only connect with blue tooth during phone calls, so make sure to try a test run with some downloadable audio before your trip.

We have thousands of downloadable audiobooks for kids, teens, and adults that can be checked out instantly with a library card. Each audiobook platform is unique and has its own website or app. You can check out most (but not all) audiobooks directly from the library catalog. Learn about all our audiobook platforms designed specifically for children. These platforms feature audiobooks, video read alouds, and read alongs, in which the words appear as the story is read aloud.

Playaways are audiobooks that are pre-loaded onto individual pocket-sized devices. No internet or Wi-Fi is needed. Playaways give you the portability and freedom to take audiobooks anywhere with no connectivity or downloads necessary. We have Playaways for both adults and teens.

OverDrive has audiobooks for all ages. You can borrow up to 20 titles at a time using your IndyPL library card. If you have never borrowed from OverDrive before both app directions and browser directions are available as well as a video tutorial and Overdrive Support.

OverDrive routinely features audiobooks of interest on their home page and in their app. What is featured often coincides with current events and trending or seasonal interests. Hold lines can get very long for new and popular titles, but there are actually thousands of audiobooks available with no wait. Lucky Day! Audiobooks are popular titles that are immediately available. All Lucky Day titles have a seven day loan period and cannot be renewed. You may borrow only one Lucky Day title at a time. If you are lucky enough to get a Lucky Day copy, please remember to cancel the hold you might have on the regular copy!
