In order to get Adobe Flash to install on my machine I had to first get the "Shockwave Flash Object" installed so it would show up in the View and Manage your Internet Explorer add-ons. Once the "Shockwave Flash Object" was installed, I then was able to change the status to Enable, at which point running the installer finally succeeded and flash is now working in IE8.

OK I have been at this for hours, I am running Firefox, I try to access an online game, says need flash plugin. I click to install, Next window pops up and says installation failed then gives a manual installation button. I click on that, verify window comes up and completes verification, installation window comes up and gets to 47% then says installation failed. When I click finish it takes me tyo the adobe troubleshooting page. I have done EVERYTHING there including downloading the uninstall flash player program and ran that as well, said flash was uninstalled then ran everything above again. I don't know what else to do.

Another thing I faced is that only installing flash player is not sufficient to see some graphics or games, etc. You might need to Install Java as well. After install these two SW, you also need to enable the internet option "Run Active X and Plug-ins".

Thank you for the info, but lets get to specifics. I am running Windows 10 Edge browser. All Microsoft updates have gone through successfully including recent Adobe flash updates. Were these updates supposed to upgrade me to 32.0.0.101? Apparently they did not.

The issue appears to be resolved. On Dec 12 I received an update from Microsoft that upgraded my active x flash to 32.0.0.101. So edge is current and ok. However, on Nov 31 Adobe downloaded PPAPI plugin 31.0.0.153. The Nov 31 installation date was in all the PPAPI programs in the flash files. This is totally weird. I received no notification of this download, and had no other browsers on my system but Edge and IE. Once the PPAPI plug in was downloaded I immediately got notifications to upgrade the PPAPI?

I have just updated adobe flash player since my browser requested it and found that adobe has installed McAfee without me opting in to do so. I am furious about it, and can only refer to a previous discussion point copied in here. Why does Adobe do this it will drive customers away in their droves.

Many websites even have pop up notifications that specify the site will not function properly or to please disable ad blocker.

You're telling me that the team couldn't find a way to at least place a warning to turn of ad blocker? Or make an opt out option that isn't dependent on whether an ad blocker is on or not?

I only use flash because I have to. I stopped my subscription to the adobe suite because of poor quality updates, tons of bugs, and lack of affordable choice options. This makes me much less likely to ever return.

Frankly, I find this practice by Adobe INFURIATING and would dump flash player in an instant if I could find a viable alternative (Suggestions anyone?). I have not opted for automatic installation of updates because I can't find anything that guarantees that Adobe won't automatically install McAfee (or God knows what else) automatically.

One of the issue that I have which I didn't find any answer is Adobe flash player, I excluded the site from decryption but still after downloading the flash player exe upadte file I get "connection error" from the installation.

With no Flash player installed, Apps like Safari will not run any Flash content. However Google Chrome has an inbuilt extension for running flash content, for us this is not turned on by default so Chrome will ask each time to run the extension. If you are running Google admin to manage your google accounts, you can use that to stop the extension from in there.

does anyone know if the rtroutron adobe flash player uninstall script is 100% silent? should the adobe flash player popup appear if a user is logged in at the time the script runs? logged in on another test laptop to see if this popup happens again .

Microsoft will continue providing security updates to Adobe Flash Player and maintain OS and browser compatibility through the end of 2020. As you transition away from Adobe Flash Player, we encourage you to continue to upgrade your systems with the latest security updates, while it is still in support. If you require additional assistance, please contact your Microsoft Account team.

If you do plan to upgrade (and I strongly recommend you to do so), then read this kb article: -Cloud-Director/10.0/com.vmware.vcloud.install.doc/GUID-6EC093C1-4C... and this article, that covers upgrade of linux based vcd -vcd95-to-1011.html (Note, upgrade process is dependent on your configuration).

You definitely don't want to use the brackets around the numbers, so your line of code you've shared does look correct from what I can tell. Is your Flash player (plug-in) version up-to-date? That may be one of the issues why a Flash file might get a blank screen in your course. Also, what browser are you using? Have you tried either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome?

Hmmm...I am not sure. I just tested this in my own sandbox course with a Flash animation (with a short video clip inside it) that I had made several years ago, and it worked perfectly. I was using Firefox 43.0.4 and have Adobe Flash Player version 20 installed on my PC here at work. Do you need to upgrade your Flash Player, by chance? 0852c4b9a8
