because you can have one version with all your pokemon, breed,shiny hunting,competitve, etc. and the other one can be used for challanges. lets say i want to start an all dragon/ghost/bug whatever playthrough. i breed all the pokemon i want on the team on my main game and on the second one every time i want to start a new challange i can start a new game without worrying that i will lose all my pokemons.
maybe because you are a casual and not interested in challanges. i am a challange and completionist which is why i buy both versions. but only for games that i love. i also have switch lite besides my main switch oled because i prefer the lite on handhandled mode. which also gives me the ability to complete any pokedex of any pokemon game i own without seeking for trades online. i mean yeah if a pokemon game is new its easy to find trade. but after years its impossible. not to mention the fact that you also need the trader to return the pokemon to you and if its a stranger he can always steal the pokemon you traded to him.

It's kind of it's own beast. I've played almost every pokemon game from start to finish and I can't say I've every played one that felt like this. With all the players running around and comparisons to some towns I would say it shares a few similarities with pokemon sword and shield, although it was released after pbb was taken down.
I've always wanted to make a video game that criticises pokemon. I want to know if I could use pokemon as the characters in the game without running into copy right laws. The game itself will have nothing to do with the normal purpose of pokemon but at one point also mimics pokemon mystery dungeon a little. that point in the game would be similar to the rescuing of other pokemon and will also have some of the same characters in pokemon mystery dungeon. so, could I possably make this game? or not. If I couldn't, what would it take to have permission. If your wondering how the game criticises pokemon, it does so cause it's supposed to be a gory hard core M game. What if I was to not include any of the titles from pokemon like pikachu for example and just simply give the characters real life names as well as give minor changes in designs and abilities? Could that help avoid copyright problems?
Couldnt be more thankful for this program the only down side that im aware of is not being a legal checker for all generation pokemon unless there is a program already out there for it, as some moves are previous generation pokemon so sometimes when I make them there might be another move that its not meant to have as its really tedious to search up every detail, but I won't complain here as nonetheless this program is a huge shortcut itself and allows me to do what I need and recieve the pokemon I can't obtain since black and white I got rid of all my pokemon games so at the moment only have everything X&Y and onwards. Keep doing what you're doing best.

If yours deletes your save and won't let you save anymore then chances are you will need to replace the battery.
This may work with other gameboy games but pokemon gold/silver are the only ones I know about.

EDIT: quadcam24 has suggested in the comments that instead of using a screwdriver you could use fine tipped pliers to turn the security screw, this method would be easier and quicker than using a screwdriver if you could find pliers with thin enough tips
