"Dirty Picture" is a song by British R&B singer Taio Cruz, which features vocals from American singer Kesha and was released from his second studio album, Rokstarr (2009). The song was written and produced by Cruz alongside Fraser T Smith, and later released as the album's third single on 5 April 2010. Originally, Cruz wanted the female vocals to be done by Lady Gaga but opted to switch to Kesha due to heavy influence by Dr. Luke and for finding her voice unique. The song was later re-recorded as an album bonus track for Kesha's debut album, Animal (2010), and dubbed the "Kesha edit" or "Dirty Picture Pt. 2". Lyrically, the song is about sending a dirty picture to a significant other whom you miss.

"Dirty Picture" is song composed in the dance genre, that encompasses a techno beat infused in its backing, as well as synthesizers.[4] The song features auto-tuned vocals by Kesha.[4][5] According to Robert Cospey of Digital Spy, the song's chorus contains "trancey" elements and is reminiscent of Benny Benassi's song, "Satisfaction".[6] Lyrically, Cruz explained the song's message saying, "the song is actually about sending sexy pictures to your significant other, if you miss each other and you can't see each other, you're far away from each other, you send pictures to remind each other of how sexy you are."[7] According to sheet music published at Musicnotes.com by EMI Music Publishing, "Dirty Picture" is written in the time signature of common time, with a moderate beat rate of 125 beats per minute. The song is written in the key of F minor; Cruz' vocal range spans from the note of Eb4 to the note of F5.[8]

The Guardian's Caroline Sullivan first criticized Cruz for his evident "facelessness" in his music while reviewing his album; she, however, wrote that the song "saves the day" and wrote that it exemplified "British humour by impersonating a camera ('Snap, snap, click!')."[12] Sara Anderson from AOL Radio was positive in her review of the song. Anderson wrote, "Building from strobing, techno back beats, Taio melodically, and bluntly, asks his muse to take a few, er, risque pictures for him, before transitioning into speaking voice with the help of party queen Kesha."[4] David Jeffries of AllMusic listed the song as one of the album's three best tracks, alongside "Break Your Heart" and "Take You Back."[13] Melanie Bertoldi of Billboard praised Cruz' vocal delivery, calling it the "most impressive" on the album.[5]

The video opens with Cruz driving a car speeding through the desert. It then cuts to a new scene where Cruz is at a house party where everyone is drinking and sending dirty text messages. Throughout the scenes Cruz is seen taking pictures with different women and singing karaoke. Kesha's vocals cut in and she is seen standing in a bathroom stall standing on top of a toilet "asking that her man do the same [and send a dirty picture]."[3] Once again the video then cuts to scenes of Cruz standing next to his car in the desert singing his verses. The video then cuts back to the party where all of the party goers are seen "sexting, kissing, touching and bumping and grinding as the flashes flash."[3] Kesha's vocals once again cut in and this time she is seen laying on top of the bathroom sink singing her verses. The video ends with Cruz and Kesha standing next to each other telling their loved ones to "click, click, snap" that dirty picture their way.[3]

For the song "Ooh La La", Vishal and Milan insisted on veteran composer Bappi Lahiri to perform the vocals alongside Shreya Ghoshal; Lahiri previously associated the director and composer by singing "Mumbai Nagariya" from Taxi No 9211. On the lyrics of the song, he described it as bold but not being vulgar, further adding "Today, there are so many songs with vulgar lyrics. Also, the situation needs to be taken into consideration. The lyrics were required to be bold."[3]

Cruz explained the song's message to be, "about sending sexy pictures to your significant other, if you miss each other and you can't see each other, you're far away from each other, you send pictures to remind each other of how sexy you are."[2]

Although the premise of both the movies and both the songs is altogether different but one can easily recall DIRTY PICTURE's Vidya seeing Rani. Nevertheless, Rani steals the show and looks entertaining with her amusing expressions and dance.

The lyrics of the songs are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and the music is scored by Amit Trivedi. The audio is on T-series. The film is produced by Viacom 18 and all set to hit the screens on 12th October 2012.

While Dirty Pictures (Part 1)'s grimey take on American life found the band digging deeper into the dirt, Part 2 finds them climbing out with their most mature, emotional and cathartic record to date. Piano-pounding frontman / songwriter Adam Weiner explains the ragged but hopeful characters that live on the new record this way: "If you spend a lot of time in divey bars, Waffle House counters, and Burger Kings you'll meet some really mixed-up beautiful people. Those are the people that end up in my songs."

Low Cut Connie returned to our studio last month following the release of "Dirty Pictures (Part 1)" -- a record which several of our hosts selected as one of their favorite albums of the year so far. The band performed four songs and spoke with Alisha Sweeney about the themes of empathy on "Dirty Pictures (Part 1)," its growing reputation as a great live band and the forthcoming "Part 2" companion album.

You might think that item numbers are a product of today, but they have been there all along. All movies, earlier on as well, had one significant song which would make the movie famous. Now we call this song item song. It is very important for the public to like one song. But I feel lyrics need to be given some importance. Everyone including small children come and sing my songs with me when I do shows and this is because of the lyrics. I am a Disco Dancer became a hit because of the lyrics. Nowadays a little more importance should be given to lyrics. Also, singers must have their unique styles. Today, this does not happen. It is important to have your individual style.

Ask him about the bold lyrics, and he immediately replies, "The lyrics are bold, but not vulgar. Today, there are so many songs with vulgar lyrics. Also, the situation needs to be taken into consideration. The lyrics were required to be bold."

"Last year, my original songs I Am A Disco Dancer and Yaad Aa Raha Hai were recreated in Golmaal 3," Bappida says. "This year, I did a song in Ragini MMS. But Oh La La has brought back the 1980s era in Bollywood.

"The '80s were an outstanding era. Jeetendra and I had 14 silver jubilee films. Today, Bollywood is trying to copy Hollywood. The songs do not have a recall factor. Within a month or two, people move on to new songs."

Tusshar Kapoor said, "Bappi Lahiri was somebody my generation grew up on as far as his songs are concerned. Unfortunately, I couldn't be a part of the film wherein he has given music. But I have worked with his son, Bappa who gave music for C Company. Bappi da sang the recreation of Oo La La for The Dirty Picture which I was a part of. I can be proud in saying that I was fortunate enough to have been a part of some of his best work." 0852c4b9a8
