A friend of mine wants me to recreate a childhood photo for him and I was wondering how to recreate the Sears Portrait Studio Background. Is it possible out of all the stores someone took a photograph of just the background and it is still around? I know some of you have worked for Sears Portrait Studio in the past and was wondering if this was a possibility or if I should just go with a new yet similar background.

The Square Photo Studio app instantly removes the background from your pictures to allow for custom background styles. You can choose a pre-set style and optionally customise the colour, or use a transparent background. When editing your photo:

On the edit screen, choose from our colour palette or use the eyedropper to pick a custom colour. You can also enter your own hex code for a more precise colour selection, or choose from our background scene options.

Once the app removes the original background, you can use the photo with its transparent background, or add a crisp, white background for eCommerce use. Select from a variety of pre-set colour backgrounds for social media selling, choose a styled two-tone background or enter a specific hex code into the custom colour picker, to get a background that perfectly matches your brand.

I will be shooting a group portrait for 7 people. And I want the background to be white but I live in Cleveland and I am having hard time finding large studio with white background for rental. What we have here is video studio for Green keying with green background.

I have used the Green Screen and tried to use CS6 to get back to a white background (or other colour). In my experience it is not as good as a white or mid-grey background. The green seems to cause a wrap of green colour around the subject that is hard to eliminate. One suggestion - use white continuous and photograph each individual and composite the group shot. Best if not full length and the composite takes a little planning.

First, it the green screen is too bright or if the subject is very close to it the light reflecting from the green screen will be visible around the edges of the subject. Keep your subjects at least 6' from the background, and further is better.

Getting a pure white background takes a bit of work. You need to light the background properly to get the exposure about 0.7 to 1 stop overexposed and you will still have a light gray floor that will require cleanup work. Sometimes it is simply better to go with a light gray background.

One word of caution, if you overexpose the background by more than 1 stop you will have a major problem with lens flare and the edges of your subjects being blown out unless you keep your subjects a very long way from the background. Just limit your background to no more than 1 stop of overexposure and keep your subjects at least 6' from the background to avoid problems.

I've never shot a group of 7 people on a greenscreen (I'd think the biggest challenge is to evenly & separately light both the background and your subjects), but you may get further than you think with this action. It works amazingly well for me.

two or three king size sheets is all you need and expose the sheets 1/2 to 1 stop over the people. do not go above that. if it is a bit gray then you can just use the dodge tool set to highlights to make it pure white. A lot fasteer to do it in st that worry about a perfectly lit back drop. keep 6 ft to 10 feet between the background and the group to prevent flare and shadows.

If you use Blending Modes to insert your intended background in Photoshop, a gray background does not have to be even. If you haven't discovered the channel of Photoshop master Unmesh Dinda on YouTube...get yourself over there. He's got a video on using Blending Modes for inserting backgrounds against gray (and answers for all the Photoshop problems you didn't even realize you had).

I also agree with the suggestion of trying a composite, building from a couple of smaller groups. That will make the background insertions even easier because you can work well within a smaller background for each group.

Getting rid of the green screen is a less than five minute job in Photoshop if it's properly lighted and the subject is not too close to the background. Mostly it's the floor that reflects and creates spill.

Lomography's LomoChrome '92 is designed to mimic the look of classic drugstore film that used to fill family photo albums. As we discovered, to shoot with it is to embrace the unexpected, from strange color shifts to odd textures and oversized grain.

The LowePro PhotoSport Outdoor is a camera pack for photographers who also need a well-designed daypack for hiking and other outdoor use. If that sounds like you, the PhotoSport Outdoor may be a great choice, but as with any hybrid product, there are a few tradeoffs.

If you want a compact camera that produces great quality photos without the hassle of changing lenses, there are plenty of choices available for every budget. Read on to find out which portable enthusiast compacts are our favorites.

In this first post, I will teach you how to set up a photo studio at home on a bootstrapped budget. You will be surprised to see how easily you can turn your living room (or spare bedroom, garage, etc.) into your own home photography studio so that you can consistently produce quality white background product images for your online store. The home photo studio below cost less than $300 USD to set up (with camera!), and you will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Professional photo studio lighting equipment can be confusing and expensive. The good news is that it's possible to create the same quality images without the bulky, high-tech equipment most professional photo studios use.

That being said, if you have room in the budget for a quality machine, go for it. Keep in mind that your camera is just 1 of 5 factors that will affect the final outcome of your product images. Your home photography studio setup, lighting, product styling, and using the best product image editing service all play an important role in the creation of quality product images.

So don't stress about the camera. I suggest that you first try to use what you have at home before you go on a shopping spree (here's a guide to smartphone product photography). If you are set on buying new equipment, I suggest that you purchase a camera that at a minimum has manual settings for exposure and aperture.

Don't forget your SD memory card! This is what your camera will use to store your images on during a photo shoot. Memory is cheap these days and a modest capacity SD card (+16GB) shouldn't run more than $10 bucks. For DIY product photography, you don't need to worry about speed class. Without going into detail, speed is more relevant with video or burst photography.

In the second part of this post, I will show you how to adjust your camera's manual settings depending on the light in your studio. You do not need to spend a lot of money on a tripod, but it is absolutely essential that you buy one. Below, I have listed a great budget friendly option:

To create a seamless white photo backdrop, I recommend that you buy a large roll of white paper to place behind your product. You can buy rolls of white paper at most office supply and camera stores. ff782bc1db
