I've been experiencing repeated issues with our Archer C5400x (AC5400x) router, and have come to realize that the antivirus is behaving in a way that makes me extremely uncomfortable as a consumer.
The AC5400x comes with the "TREND Micro antivirus", which I definitely do not wish to use at all. While I would prefer to not have included in the product, that clearly isn't an option.

Yet, every time that I head to the AC5400x web interface... the TREND Micro antivirus continues to report that it has "updated" and continues to report that is has "blocked" websites in the log.
This occurs even as all the sliders are set to "disabled".
All of this is extremely concerning to me, as I really wanted the TREND Micro AV completely off, and to remain disabled. I would've thought that was what the point of the "sliders" in the AV section of the web interface, no?
Trend Micro Internet Security (known as PC-cillin Internet Security in Australia and Virus Buster in Japan) is an antivirus and online security program developed by Trend Micro for the consumer market. Trend Micro's consumer security range looks a lot like most of the competition: a single Windows-only antivirus product here, a more powerful internet security suite over there, and a high-end product with extra functionality and support for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices. In fact, it's among the best Mac antivirus today.
