On October 13, 2005, Yahoo! and Microsoft announced plans to add interoperability between their messenger services.[69] The announcement came after years of third-party interoperability success (most notably, PowWow by Tribal Voice,[70][71] Trillian, Pidgin) and criticisms from Tribal Voice and iCast that the major real time communications services were locking their networks.[72] Yahoo! and Windows Live Messenger became interoperable on July 12, 2006.[73][74] For six years, Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger users in possession of up-to-date software could communicate across the two networks. Instant messaging as well as transmission of emoticons, nudges, offline messages, presence information and personal status messages were supported.[75] On December 14, 2012, the interoperability ended.[76]

Messenger might crash or perform poorly for a number of reasons. First, you may be running other third-party products, such as other instant message programs, that cause Messenger to close or crash. Or, it may close down if you are using it and lose your Internet connection. Also, if you have malicious software or a virus on your computer, Messenger might not work properly. Lastly, you might just have an old version of Messenger; visit the Messenger website at explore.live.com/messenger to download and install the latest version.

Outlook Connector seemed to completely give up last week, so I reset my hotmail accounts to use pop3/smtp through outlook and sent a bunch of test emails at the time to make sure it was set up properly, some of which only just arrived.

Doh! Think it may have been me, but also at the time Hotmail was playing up? Basically I had problems yesterday morning, gave up and did something else. That "something" was my car manual on CD, which has to have the PC clock changed to 2003 before it will work. Afterwards, I reset the clock......to 2009......! Tried again this morning, no Messenger still; got an email on Outlook from someone saying my clock was wrong date(thanks btw, whoever it was!), so reset the date to 2010, and bingo, messenger/hotmail now ok.

Windows Live Messenger is an instant messenger that is the most-used in the world.[source?] It is made by the Windows Live section of Microsoft. It used to be called MSN Messenger before MSN was changed into Windows Live. Microsoft announced that they were retiring Windows Live Messenger (except for China) in favor of Skype.[1]

The integration of Windows Live Messenger, or previous messenger variants like MSN Messenger, is not a new phenomenon. The problem that Hotmail users face is the same, how to disable or remove Windows Live Messenger from starting with Hotmail.

Messenger is only loaded in Internet Explorer if Hotmail is opened. Other web browsers are not loading the instant messenger. One easy option is therefor to use a different web browser to access Hotmail.

Accumulating evidence demonstrates that chronic inflammation plays an important role in heart hypertrophy and cardiac diseases. However, the fine-tuning of cellular and molecular mechanisms that connect inflammatory process and cardiac diseases is still under investigation. Many reports have demonstrated that the overexpression of the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), a key enzyme in the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins and other prostanoids, is correlated with inflammatory processes. Increased level of prostaglandin E2 was also found in animal model of left ventricle of hypertrophy. Based on previous observations that demonstrated a regulatory loop between COX-2 and the RNA-binding protein CUGBP2, we studied cellular and molecular mechanisms of a pro-inflammatory stimulus in a cardiac cell to verify if the above two molecules could be correlated with the inflammatory process in the heart. A cellular model of investigation was established and H9c2 was used. We also demonstrated a regulatory connection between COX-2 and CUGBP2 in the cardiac cells. Based on a set of different assays including gene silencing and fluorescence microscopy, we describe a novel function for the RNA-binding protein CUGBP2 in controlling the pro-inflammatory stimulus: subcellular trafficking of messenger molecules to specific cytoplasmic stress granules to maintain homeostasis. 0852c4b9a8
