"Mirror Mirror" peaked at number 2 on the weekly Gaon Digital Chart[11] and landed at number 29 for the year-end chart.[12] There was controversy surrounding the dance used as part of the song's television stage performances. During the second chorus, 4minute performed a "spread leg dance". Many viewers found the move provocative and too overtly sexual for television. 4minute was not alone in the controversy, as another group, Rania, also received the same complaints because of a similar dance move. The "spread leg dance" was later banned by KBS from their show Music Bank, and by SBS from their show Inkigayo.[13] Due to this problem, 4minute changed their choreography twice.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is the #1 killer of student athletes and the leading cause of death on school campuses. 1 in 300 young people have an undetected heart condition that puts them at risk for SCA. In fact, an estimated 7,000 to 23,000 young people are stricken by SCA annually. If a young person experiences SCA, there is a 90% chance that young person will die from the SCA event.

To learn about a local University School of Jackson baseball player who experienced an SCA in January 2021 due to an unknown congenital heart defect and why Friends of Heart wants to get ahead of the issue before an SCA happens, please check out the video below:

Organizations in West Tennessee in need of an AED can apply for a grant to partner with Friends of Heart to obtain an AED, pads, and pediatric pads. Qualifying organizations include churches, nonprofits, rescue groups, police departments, fire departments, civic organizations, and more. We ask for $500 and Friends of Heart covers the rest. Each month, our Executive Board reviews these applications to determine who will receive an AED. Download and fill out the grant request form and email it to aedgrants@friendsofheart.org for consideration.

We have also assisted with funds for training on new equipment and funding for seminar attendance that will bring the latest education for treatments and diagnosis to West Tennessee.

We are accepting opportunities to fund a research program in the pursuit of knowledge for the best heart and vascular care but also to recruit the most talented physicians to bring or begin their practice here to West Tennessee.

I've had an Apple Watch 3, 4 & 5. All of them had/have the same issue, not recording properly workouts to count as exercise. If I walk briskly I only gat 40-50% of the workout to count as exercise. This has been going on for about five years now, and still no solution. Choosing Other doesn't give me much information, such as lap times or pacing. I get total time, active calories, total calories and average heart rate, but no pacing or lap times (splits). My heart rate is about 80-90 bpm when I exercise and rarely gets above 100 bpm. I am fairly healthy for my age, 68 years young. My fitbit charge 2 and versa 2 do not have this issue, so this is clearly one of those infuriating things that Apple does that no one is able or willing to explain. This has really soured my opinion of the Apple watch and Apple itself! Can anyone help? Thanks.

Thank you. This explains what I thought was the problem, my heart rate. I'm on medication to slow my heart rate. I've been on it for several years, but I believe I'm over medicated. As an example, last Saturday I went to the gym and got on the treadmill. I did 3.2 mph for 60 minutes and my heart rate averaged 76-81 bpm, not enough to count as exercise, even though by the end I was drenched in sweat. My heart rate should be at 114 bpm (75% of my maximum) and my recommended target range: 83 to 129 beats per minute, according to active.com. I have to talk to my doctor about lowering my dosage and increasing my walking speed. Sorry if it's too much information, but you helped me a lot and I appreciate it.

It will only get counted as exercise if you started it as a workout or if your heart rate goes up sufficiently. If you are relatively fit, it may require more than walking briskly to achieve that. Make sure that you have your age, sex, height and weight set correctly also.

If you sit at your computer all day and then lounge on the sofa for more screen time in the evening, your health can take a hit. A body of evidence links sedentary lifestyles to an increased risk of diabetes, dementia and death from heart disease.

More than one out of every three adults in the U.S. has prediabetes, and nearly half of adults have high blood pressure, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Both conditions increase the risk of heart disease which is the top cause of death in the U.S. So, Sallis says many people can benefit from small, frequent movement breaks.

Bodyweight exercises are not merely limited to strength moves like push-ups and squats either. You can also burn major calories by performing a wide variety of bodyweight-only cardio moves as well. Here is a fun, yet challenging, four-minute cardio workout for your heart - Just in time for February, which is the American Heart Month!

intervals.icu reports HRRc for a given workout as the largest decrease in heart rate (bpm) over a one-minute period. HRRc could be one way to assess your ability to recover from intense efforts, but is subject to all of the same items listed above.

Hi, for me I think hr recovery is an excellent way of looking at if you are adapting or recovering from a certain physiological training zone. For example, I am doing VO2 intervals x4 of say at a hr at 176-170, and recover until my hr goes to 60% MHR. On average my hr drops to 60% on average 2 mins. If I see that my hr takes on average 1 min 50 sec, then thats a training adaptation, and on the other hand it takes a lot longer to recover, I would stop the workout due to possible over reaching, as my bodily systems are not recovering.

I woud take a rest day, and a couple of easy days, then go at it again, to see if I am recovering from the training load.

IMO, heart rate recovery is a tool if you are adapting to any training load, or not, see if there is a positive or negative trend. Every one is an individual and has their own unique physiology. Just apply the basic principles to training effectively.

I hope this kind of helps,

Allan
