I know while researching you might have come across various online methods to run GarageBand on a Windows PC. However, some procedures might turn out to be too complicated to follow, whereas others are unsafe and unreliable. The best way to install and run this app on a windows PC is by VMWare, it is the method I recommend the most and personally use, there is no lag and then exports are easier and much faster.

If you have basic knowledge of windows, you must know there are two leading companies for window-PC processor: intel and AMD, AMD is where the processors comes by the name of Ryzen, if you see the recent ryzen, that processor is a BEAST! To anyone planning to build a PC, I say go for RYZEN-9 3950x what a beast you will have for almost anything or everything you do, my friend:

All in all, Garageband is an amazing music composing app that can change the way you look at music composing and singing. All you need is the right version on your windows PC that will help you access all the features in the safest manner. Reading the guide above will make sure you all the knowledge at your disposal to become the best musical artist the world has ever seen.

I hope you are well. The current market is currently very tricky so I am giving time out to my hobbies and learning to make music and compose my own tracks. Can you please help me in the new macOS version in CATALINA, I am using garageband for windows version on windows 10 right now.

Friends, I have been struggling to find this for a while now & thank you. I went through the VM ware method & it worked out. Although the macOS version is old, I was able to get garageband working. Can you please help me in figuring out how to export the file, I am facing issues in that.

Yes I read it but no help. I have done what it says many times. Step 5 (Select your iOS device in iTunes. Click the Apps tab, and select GarageBand to see your song.) is so frustrating. I do this but do not see my song anywhere!! It does not put it in the library. It does not display on the screen anywhere when i select garageband. Anyone?!?

Just installed Garageband myself, have windows vista, will test and see what's going on. In meantime - when you click on your device on the left of iTunes are you then going to Apps at the top of the window that opens, or Apps in the list below the device. Also are you looking in the 'File sharing' section at the foot of the Apps page in the main window?

I have a very similar problem to this and since everyone has provided some great advice in this thread I wonder if anyone knows if there's a GarageBand for Windows alternative which can open GarageBand files? I saw a bunch of alternatives listed on -for-windows.html but it doesn't say if they can open GarageBand files for futher editing?

There is not and never will be a GarageBand for windows, but there are quite a few other DAWs that are sort of similar if you look around, depending on what you want. Don't download anything that tells you it is GarageBand for windows!

Nothing is going to be quite the same as GB, but remember Cakewalk has had over a decade to change, so I doubt it is the same. But it is free so easy to try. I would mention I haven't used it, I use logic and garageband, but I watched the 'first 10 minutes with cakewalk' video and it doesn't seem that tricky, compared to my memory of getting used to reaper (that I have used).

I'd like to add also this thing called n-track. I used that back in the 90s! They're still going and of course grew with the times. I used it a couple of years ago when I wanted to use a tablet/mobile phone to do some recording while on the move, there's android, mac and windows versions. It's probably the simplest but still nice to use multitrack recording software I've come across.

Thanks for your replies but I am still not sure. D1 is only an example, are there certain iOS instruments that can transmit midi data and their sounds from an iPad to a windows based DAW? If so, what connection is used between the two devices?

@BillS - MIDI and Audio are two different things. It seems that you've been able to get sound to your windows machine by using the "Y" cable mentioned. So, if I understand you correctly, you're wanting to add MIDI data to that. It's a little confusing the way you state it, as though MIDI and Audio are somehow combined. They're not.

Thanks @Felainum1977 , I will do it.

Garageband is MacOS app, SO you run it on windows pc, There are some third party applications such as Vmware or Virtual Box Application . Install them and after that Install Garageband on them virtually. I found this guide on internet where steps are well explained. Cheers!

Then select your virtual instrument and double click it to get the instrument editing panel. Select Digital Basic from the Instrument generator, now you should be able to play the instrument on the keyboard found under the windows menu.

Yet officially Garageband for windows is not available but we can use Garageband on windows using iOS emulators on windows. First I installed iOS emulator on my windows PC and then I was able to use GarageBand on Windows too,

Well bro there's isn't any garageband version for windows 10/8/7/8.1 . Though there are several methods to install garageband on a windows pc. One of them is using vmwae and creating a virtual machine to run garageband on the installed MacOS

opening two GarageBand projects simultaneously is possible. You can have two different GarageBand projects open in separate windows, which makes it easier for you to switch between projects quickly and have both open at the same time.

I am having the same issue. To clarify, my casio cts1 connects perfectly fine via the wu bt10 audio, but when I try to use the midi function, it always says "try connecting your device again" I have the latest version of windows 10 installed.

I have exactly the same problem. I have tried all the solutions proposed in the web, and no way !

I asked to Casio support that confirmed me the MIDI bluetooth is only for Android/iOS and moreover only for Chordana application.

They said some tablets with garageband (iOS) can use the MIDI bluetooth... not by definition but by chance !!!

Chordana can establish the connection (naturally)... but Android cannot (direct OS pairing is also impossible as for windows).

GarageBand success in connecting the device in some tablet hardware...

The only solution for a standard MIDI interface (which can appear in usual application) is to use a driver that can establish a connection with the BLE MIDI device and maps this one to a standard MIDI port: this is the role of Korg BLE MIDI driver for example, the usual (and the only one) driver for windows (which can recognize any BLE interface, not only Korg devices).
