Inventor really needs a built-in export to DSTV (.nc1) option. This would be great as the recent increase in robotic materials processing is taking off, and the only way to get DSTV from Inventor files is to use 3rd party software.

@ray_m Did you ever find a solution? We are also needing to export dstv files. We have one license for Steel Projects, but would be great if we could export directly from Inventor as we are four guys needing to do this.

Here as well. Company I work for just bought a PythonX and .stp looses any etching information. Only way I can find to carry it over is using CMS.

And for what they are charging, I think its worth Autodesk getting in on even if its an upcharge. (that desperate)

This is a need. We would like to make less drawings. In order to do that we would like to etch assembly information into some of our parts. This information needs to be controlled in the part (not in the NC file). We need an environment, or a way to map that information for export to a DSTV (or NC1) file.

The customer requests data in DSTV format

My colleague has a Tekla, the rest of us have 29 PDMC licenses. The investor allocates orders according to how the given department can work with data.

Tekla has a very simple transmission. Put simply, can Inventor do more than extrude and rotate? Hyperbole.

It's hard to be competitive when software is old and slow to improve.

We pay a lot for software customization. We would like to see this functionality appear in a future release soon.

I am surprised this has not already been addressed, but when the direction of the part produced with the DSTV file does not match the direction as shown on the shop detail it causes our shop a lot headache. I do my best to model beams the correct direction but on larger projects and those with skewed beams it is difficult to keep track of how any particular beam was created and there is nothing (to my knowledge) in the model that tells me the direction the DSTV is produced. It would be very helpful to not have to deal with this. To feed our machines the dstv files I have to review each file in another program and rotate as needed. This time consuming process. Curious if this will be addressed by Autodesk and how other shops deal with this.

I have a MacBook and an Apple TV 32gb 4k, I bought the Apple TV so I could mirror my MacBook screen to the Apple TV when I am streaming stuff from the dstv now website. When I stream stufff from the dstv now website without the MacBook being mirrored to the Apple TV, everything works perfectly, but as soon as I switch on mirror to my Apple TV, it gives me the error code 3036 on the video I'm trying to stream from the website. Is there a solve to this issue or what can I do?

Where does that error code appear? Some content could be restricted for mirroring, but codes may be site specific. For errors specific to DStv service, you probably should be consult them or their forums.

This post comes at the perfect time. I've been wanting to cancel dstv but the only reason for keeping it is Supersport. Not keen on pirate sights so wondered what alternatives there are for cycling and rugby. Have netflix so movies and series sorted.

When you say MTB, do you refer to XCO World Cup racing?

It's currently free on the Red Bull app, then moving to another company next year which I think could be on the GCN/Eurosport group. 152ee80cbc
