Optic Armor windshields combine the light weight, strength & safety of polycarbonate, with the optical clarity & scratch resistance of glass. From the race circuit to customized street legal cars to various heavy equipment applications, teams, drivers, and workers realize the many advantages of using our windshields.

Some of the heaviest components in a car are OE glass surfaces. Front windshields, side windows, and a sun roof. They constitute weight that can be removed (depending on your racing sanctioning body) and Lexan/Poly carbonate replacements are available for most popular racing platforms.

For Project Rotary Race mule, plans for a full roll cage with door intrusion x-braces meant that I had to cut into the inner door skin to make room for the bars. Therefore, the support skeleton for the power window mechanism had to go as well as the windows themselves. However, I was still wanted some type of shielding from the elements in the event of inclement weather while on the track so I opted to make my DIY Lexan windows. Here are the steps that I took to make it happen.

Mounting the Lexan window can be as easy as using the OE window tracks as a guide and securing the bottom of the Lexan. However some window tracks are not deep enough to keep the windows from blowing out. I decided to make a metal frame so the Lexan could be securely bolted in.

Visual Basic .NET or Visual Basic offers the ability to use threads in Visual Basic applications for the first time. Threads introduce debugging issues such as race conditions and deadlocks. This article explores these two issues.

A race condition occurs when two threads access a shared variable at the same time. The first thread reads the variable, and the second thread reads the same value from the variable. Then the first thread and second thread perform their operations on the value, and they race to see which thread can write the value last to the shared variable. The value of the thread that writes its value last is preserved, because the thread is writing over the value that the previous thread wrote.

Examine the following example to see how a race condition occurs. There are two threads, and both are updating a shared variable called total (which is represented as dword ptr ds:[031B49DCh] in the assembly code).

By looking at the assembly code, you can see how many operations the processor is performing at the lower level to execute a simple addition calculation. A thread may be able to execute all or part of its assembly code during its time on the processor. Now look at how a race condition occurs from this code.

To prevent the race conditions from occurring, you can lock shared variables, so that only one thread at a time has access to the shared variable. Do this sparingly, because if a variable is locked in Thread 1 and Thread 2 also needs the variable, Thread 2's execution stops while Thread 2 waits for Thread 1 to release the variable. (For more information, see SyncLock in the References section of this article.)

The most common symptom of a race condition is unpredictable values of variables that are shared between multiple threads. This results from the unpredictability of the order in which the threads execute. Sometime one thread wins, and sometime the other thread wins. At other times, execution works correctly. Also, if each thread is executed separately, the variable value behaves correctly.

SyncLock. Allows an object to be locked. If another thread tries to lock that same object, it is blocked until the first thread releases. Use SyncLock carefully, because problems can result from the misuse of SyncLock. For example, this command can prevent race conditions but cause deadlocks.

In 1953, the Cathedral dedicated twin windows that honored Lee and Jackson. The windows were donated by the United Daughters of the Confederacy as part of a larger campaign to memorialize and honor Confederate leaders, soldiers and ideals.

In 2017, following the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., to protect a statue of Robert E. Lee, the Lee-Jackson windows were deconsecrated and removed. Dean Randy Hollerith and other Cathedral leaders felt the windows told an incomplete and misleading account of our history, and their presence in the sacred space of the Cathedral was a barrier to prayer, particularly for Black Americans.

From 2021-2022, the Lee window was loaned to the National Museum of African American History and Culture for their temporary exhibit on Reconstruction. Both windows are currently being stored and conserved at the Cathedral. Final decisions about their use are still under consideration.

As part of the overall windows project, the Cathedral is conducting a comprehensive Iconography Review to account for all stories told in the Cathedral, and which stories have not been told. That work is ongoing.

There is a difference between remembering our history and celebrating it, especially in a sacred space. Some monuments can become an impediment to prayer, and that was the case with the Lee/Jackson windows and inscriptions. Iconography should point us to God, not distract us from that divine encounter.

Patterns of "stop and frisk" activity by police across New York City neighborhoods reflect competing theories of aggressive policing. "Broken Windows" theory suggest that neighborhoods with greater concentration of physical and social disorder should evidence higher stop and frisk activity, especially for "quality of life" crimes. However, although disorder theory informs quality of life policing strategies, patterns of stop and frisk activity suggest that neighborhood characteristics such as racial composition, poverty levels, and extent of social disorganization are stronger predictors of race- and crime-specific stops. Accordingly, neighborhood "street stop" activity reflects competing assumptions and meanings of policing strategy. Furthermore, looking at the rate at which street stops meet Terry standards of reasonable suspicion in various neighborhoods provides additional perspective on the social and strategic meanings of policing. Our empirical evidence suggests that policing is not about disorderly places, nor about improving the quality of life, but about policing poor people in poor places. This strategy contradicts the policy rationale derived from Broken Windows theory, and deviates from the original emphasis on communities by focusing on people. Racially disparate policing reinforces perceptions by citizens in minority neighborhoods that they are under non-particularized suspicion and are therefore targeted for aggressive stop and frisk policing. Such broad targeting raises concerns about the legitimacy of law, threatens to weaken citizen participation in the co-production of security, and undercuts the broader social norms goals of contemporary policing.

I know they follow NHRA generally. NHRA requires Windows to be rolled up. What if my car has a roof but no side or rear window. Will probably run in the 14. What am I faced with? Window Nets? Temporary plexiglass side windows?

Windshields and/or windows on all cars, when called for under Class Requirements, must be of safety glass, Plexiglas, Lexan (Polycarbonate), or other shatter-proof material. Windshields and/or windows must be clear, without tinting or coloring, except factory-tinted safety glass. Competition number decals are permitted on any window, windshield or backlite, except as noted in Class Requirements. Tape of any kind prohibited on any windshield or window.

Mandatory, must be in good condition and free from cracks. May be replaced with shatterproof material, 1/8-inch (3.2 mm) minimum thickness. Windshield may not be cut for scoops, carb, etc. Windshield/window tint must meet the applicable government requirements. Windows must be closed during races, need not be operable. Decals permitted on rear quarter and rear window only.

I know the challenge is not an NHRA event. And at an NHRA track I have run my road race car that does not have side windows period has a windshield but no side windows. When I ran my road race car it was a test and tune night and was not a sanctioned NHRA event. But of course my road race car had a full cage. I was hoping do not have to make plexiglass side windows just to run the challenge drag race

In current parlance, the term is commonly used by computer enthusiasts both to proudly proclaim themselves as an elitist gamer group, as well as a humorous self-parody of their own firm belief in the technical supremacy of personal computers as a video gaming platform over video game consoles such as PlayStation and Xbox, often citing gaming PC features like high-end graphics, faster frame rates, more precise gameplay control (especially with first-person shooters), free online play, wider variety of downloadable games, backward compatibility, better modifiability, upgradability and customization, lower cost-over-time, open standards, multitasking and overall superior performance.[3][4] Popular imagery, discussion and media referencing the term also commonly belittles gamers who prefer playing consoles as "dirty console peasants", and describes people who prefer playing PC as the "PC master race".[5]

What quickly becomes obvious is that Witcher is very much a PC-exclusive game, which are typically designed to be as complex and unintuitive as possible so that those dirty console-playing peasants don't ruin it for the glorious PC-gaming master race. 2351a5e196
