Ok, I have succesfully paired my new camera to my ipad via bluetooth, but each time I try to upload images from the camera, the fuji app asks to start also a wifi connection... now, assuming I am doing the right things, what's the point of having a bluetooth connection AND a wifi connection if transfer must be performed via wifi like any other camera? I thought that bt and wifi were alternative on the x-e3. Am I missing something?

WiFi transfer speeds are much faster than BT. OTOH, pairing devices is easier with BT. So, I thought the idea was to somehow combine the best parts of each and use BT to set up the connection and WiFi for the transfer... but I don't have my X-E3 yet so I haven't seen it in action.

I think the Bluetooth is just so keep the camera and phone synced and the WiFi is only for transferring images. I'm not 100% what the reason is for this implementation, but I know Bluetooth uses les energy than WiFi.

BLE or blutooth low energy will has a fairly low data transfer rate. Which is why they use weird codecs to transfer "HD Audio" via blutooth though if its bluetooth 4 its never really full hd. The Wifi however can transfer at super fast speeds, look at the wireless n passthrough. It makes sense if you are going to transfer several mb photos in bulk to use wifi and get it done in a short period of time instead of using blutooth and taking quadruple the time.

I just don't think its fast enough to do a whole lot of transfering. It can work for streaming lowish resolution jpgs to your device which might work decent for doing the remote viewing for remote photos or at minimum sending the take photo command packet to the camera.

It seems like bluetooth is used to keep connection to your phone, sync time/date and pull geolocation data for your photos. Also it is used to trigger notifications on your phone to lead you through the process of connecting to wifi when you turn off the camera with the option of auto downloading enabled.

Last weekend, I joined a workshop which is established by Fujifilm shop in my local. I do that to have experience with provided similar mirrorless machines with multiple choices of lenses. At the event, I used an X-T20. The device has WiFi connection to remote app. And live view mode and file transfer speed was quite enough. I enjoyed using it.

It is not working correctly. I did first connection for live view photo shots and display on mobile app was almost 2 seconds late than what the device catch. And I even couldn't open the menu for file transfer. The second and other connection try was unsuccessful. I no more can pair devices. Already tried unpairing and deleting pair history both from X-E3 and mobile.

I decided to try out the T5's bluetooth capabilities and paired the camera with my tablet using the Fuji app. When I only have JPEG's it works fine and the files transfer almost instantaneously. However, I shot some frames Fine + RAW, with camera set to store separate, RAW in slot 1 and JPEG in slot 2. When I try to transfer the files, it seems to default to the RAW files, and informs me that files cannot be transferred. When both cards are installed, what's the trick to getting the JPEG's recognized and transferred?

The app won't transfer RAW files, so as suggested you probably need to switch to the card slot that contains JPGs and transfer from there. Do this in playback mode, by pressing the menu button and selecting "switch slot".

I usually use a usb cable to load files onto my A5X, but occasionally I send them via bluetooth. In the past, files sent via bluetooth always ended up in my inbox folder. But recently (either with the most recent update or the previous one) this stopped happening. The files still send, and the device notifies me that they've been received, but I can't find them anywhere. The notification disappears too quickly for me to see where exactly they're being stored, but it almost looks like there's a folder just for bluetooth files. When I search the device, there are no results.

Does anyone know how to access this bluetooth folder? Also, I'm assuming this change was not intentional (since it seriously hampers the functionality of the device) so I figured I should say something to notify the folks in charge. Thanks

Thanks again, but it makes no difference either.

I see that there is other obexd-server package. After installing it (together with the previous two packages), I get the file chooser dialog to select files, but after selecting a file to transfer, it complains with:

The connection to [device] has failed:

I went into the "Send or receive files via Bluetooth" menuand selected "Receive Files", but the system returned the message"... File transfer is disabled by policy. Please check with your system administrator. ..."

I've been reading up on how to transfer data between iOS devices over Bluetooth using GameKit. I'm not writing a game, per se, but do have a need to transfer a small amount of binary data between two devices. Between two iOS devices, this is easy enough. However, I was wondering if it is possible to transfer data between an iOS device and an Android device via the same mechanism.

Details on why you can't connect an arbitrary device to the iPhone. iOS allows only some bluetooth profiles to be used without the Made For iPhone (MFi) certification (HPF, A2DP, MAP...). The Serial Port Profile that you would require to implement the communication is bound to MFi membership. Membership to this program provides you to the MFi authentication module that has to be added to your hardware and takes care of authenticating the device towards the iPhone. Android phones don't have this module, so even though the physical connection may be possible to build up, the authentication step will fail. iPhone to iPhone communication is possible as both ends are able to authenticate themselves.

I've been poking around the forums looking for a solution and there are no obvious answers. The native Bluetooth application on Windows is called fsquirt.exe and is added in the Application Monitoring section of our DLP instance but we aren't getting any transfers. After some more investigating it's been mentioned that MTP (WudfHost.exe) is what does the actual transfers so I added that to the application monitoring and I am not getting results..

I'm having problems again (this used to work perfectly) with bluetooth file transfers. Pairing and all is fine, but every file transfer fail - from my computer to the phone and vice-versa. Using gnome's "bluetooth-sendto" I get this from the command line:

Does Ubuntu have an application that can transfer files over Bluetooth?I can pair my desktop with my MacBook, and the Mac has an application it calls BT FileTransfer but when I run this, the Mac reports that my desktop does not accept that sort of connection.I did install the obexfs and obexftp packages but I am uncertain how to use them.pgmer6809

Install Blueman. Once installed, right click on the Blueman icon in the notification area and select Local Services . . . , click on Transfer. Select your Incoming Folder (where you want transferred files to arrive). Make sure Accept files from trusted devices is checked.

My quick start was done without loading my apps from my iPhone 11. I tried to use bluetooth both iphones (old -11, new 13 pro max) discovered each other but refused to pair. The error on each phone was to be sure the opposite phone was turned on.....???? Any ideas? I've undertaken the slow process of manually adding each app to the new phone. My old messages never came over either and I have no idea how to capture those. I thought about using Verizon's transfer app but not sure if it will duplicate anything already transferred/loaded.

Just to confirm, did you use the exact steps outlined in the article you came from to set up your new device with Quick Start? If so, when the "Transfer Data from [Device]" screen appeared, did you tap "Continue," or did you select "Other Options" to transfer data from a previous backup?

If you selected to transfer data from a previous iCloud backup and some information is missing, these steps may help: About missing information after you restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iCloud Backup

You can also find some great information about transferring data from a previous device to a new device here: Transfer data from your previous iOS or iPadOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Select pictures for transfer on the camera in playback mode and then press the button to which WIRELESS COMMUNICATION is assigned or select WIRELESS COMMUNICATION in the playback menu.

Hi all,

I have a bit of a mystery that I hope someone can solve.

I have an arduino connected to an accelerometer to capture motion data, via an HC-05 module. The AI app polls this at intervals (say 5 seconds) and the arduino replies with the highest value since the last poll. It appears to work ok, but I have noticed something that is incorrect - whenever I get a reply from the arduino, it is the 'previous' value. Tricky to explain..

I'm monitoring the accel value on the laptop via the arduino serial monitor.

The first time that the AI app polls this, I appear to get no reply, although the arduino has generated a value which can be seen in the serial monitor

The next time it polls, I do get a reply - but it is the value generated by the previous poll, and the new, different value may be seen in the serial monitor. The AI app is always one poll behind - unless I put in a 1000mS delay between sending the poll command ('S') and then receiving.

The arduino code is ok, as I have used a bluetooth serial monitor on my phone to manually send an 'S' and get an immediate, correct reply.

Also - if I make a note of the last value generated by the arduino, then reset it or reupload the code - the value returned by the first poll is that last value - which should not have been present in the arduino - it's as if it is lurking in a buffer in the AI system - or something!!

Here are the blocks I'm using - these have the 1000mS delay to make it work correctly - if I were to try to receive text immediately after sending the 'S' (83), it would receive that incorrect, previous value.

Thanks for any advice.. ff782bc1db
