I presume since you don't know the IP address, it means that the Pi is getting its' IP from DHCP. If a simple scanner can't find the IP, it's because the Pi hasn't acquired one - perhaps you have misconfigured whatever DHCP/Network Sharing you might be using on the laptop?

Connect the pi to your laptop, turn off wifi and make sure network bridge is enabled in its properties, then use IP scanner and you should only see 2 IP addresses : your laptop's and your pi's. Hope i helped.

I am using Advanced IP scanner to view all the machines at my home. However, it just shows me only one machine but not the other. However, I am able to ping to the other machine. The network discovery for that machine is also on. Can anyone point out what the problem may be?

I've got a meraki firewall. My old camera network is on 192.168.1.0/24 network. On my PC, I am sitting with a 10.10.11.0/24 ip address, and I can ping the 192.168.1.254, which is the default gateway for the 192.168.1.0/24 network. However, I can't ping 192.168.1.108 which is the specific camera that is on the 192.168.1.0/24 network. Additionally, when I use advanced ip scanner, I can see the 192.168.1.108 as if it is online, but not yet pingable or reachable via HTTP. I am trying to do a packet capture, but really not sure how to capture or what expressions to use correctly to see maybe what is going on here??? Thoughts?

From the limited documentation I've seen it tries several services in the given network range to establish if a host is present. What you can do is set a capture filter expression host 192.168.1.108, start the capture and start the scanner. This way all other traffic will be left out and the protocol exchanges should be obvious.

I'm here to introduce you to Orvis an optical scanning and data platform that creates data rich 3d digital surface maps of patient anatomy in real time for continuously reliable surgical navigation. The navigation systems track and display the position of tools and implants relative to patient anatomy, they help surgeons accurately place them or remove diseased tissue aligned bones. These are the images that are displayed by a visualization system. But according to the FDA safety notices from 2017, these surgical navigation systems fail to adequately track changes in the position of patient anatomy during surgery. Once anatomy changes position the maps are out of date, preventing or limiting the usefulness of navigation in certain scenarios. This is a 40 year old problem and manufacturers have been looking for a solution. This is a failure of technology that according to the FDA is leading to patient deaths, life threatening injuries failed, aborted and prolonged medical procedures. Hospitals are interested because they're the ones absorbing 10s of billions of dollars in related costs every year on these fixed reimbursement procedures. What the world needs now is something to fill this existing technology gap and enable the next generation of robotic AR and VR interventions. And here it is. This is called automatic bone registration. If you can see it, we can map it into racket and getting rid of expensive arrays reduces costs while making surgery safer for the patient. We're currently raising $8 million to buy us 15 months so we can productize the device and submit it for 510 K, we have additional IP to file more clinical studies to do.
