GitHub Copilot Chat is a chat interface that lets you ask and receive answers to coding-related questions directly within a supported IDE. Copilot Chat can help you with a variety of coding-related tasks, like offering you code suggestions, providing natural language descriptions of a piece of code's functionality and purpose, generating unit tests for your code, and proposing fixes for bugs in your code. To confirm that GitHub Copilot Chat has been successfully installed, in the activity bar on the left side of the Visual Studio Code window, click the GitHub Copilot Chat icon to open the GitHub Copilot Chat chat window.

To loop more people into the conversation, select Add people (or View and add participants in group chat) in the top right corner of Teams. Then, type the names of the people you'd like to chat with, choose how much of the chat history to include, and select Add.

Important: You may occasionally receive a text from Jibe Mobile from Google to verify your phone number. RCS chats are available for your default or preferred call SIM at this time and may be available for other SIMs later. Manage your default call SIM in your System settings. To learn how to use dual SIM settings, contact your device manufacturer.

Important: If you do not turn off RCS chats in Settings to stop sending and receiving RCS messages when you remove a SIM card from your device, RCS chats may continue to work for up to 14 days.

Once Chat has been enabled as an LTI tool in your course, the Chat tool can be used for real-time conversation with course users. Any user in the course can participate in a chat conversation and view all chat content. Currently there is no load limit for a course chat, but larger numbers of course users may affect performance.

A user must be actively viewing the chat tool to appear in the chat list. You may consider posting chat hours in the course calendar to let students know when you are available. You can also open Chat in a new browser window while viewing other areas in Canvas.

To receive audio alerts for new chat messages, click the New message alerts button [2]. You will receive audio alerts if Chat is open in Canvas but is not the active browser window. You will not receive alerts if you leave Chat to view another area in Canvas.

When a user sends multiple chat messages without another user sending a message, all messages will appear under the first message's time stamp. To view additional time stamps, hover your cursor over the message.

In early February 2022, Microsoft unveiled a new version of its search engine Bing, with its standout feature being its AI chatbot that is powered by more advanced technology than ChatGPT, OpenAI's GPT-4.

With Copilot, you can ask the AI chatbot questions and get detailed, human-like responses with footnotes that link back to the original sources. Since the chatbot is connected to the internet, it has the ability to provide you with up-to-date information, which is another capability that ChatGPT's free version doesn't boast.

The chatbot can help you with your creative desires, such as writing a poem, essay, or song. It can solve complex math or coding tasks, and it can even generate images from text by using Bing's Image Creator within the same platform.

The most recent and biggest change occurred in November 2023, when Microsoft shifted the branding of its popular AI chatbot from Bing Chat to Copilot. In addition to changing the name, the shift made Bing Chat more of a standalone experience, like its major competitor, ChatGPT, with its own standalone web page.

GPT-4 Turbo can take a chatbot's abilities to new limits with knowledge of world events up to April 2023 and a 128k context window that allows it to fit more than 300 pages of text in a single prompt.

On February 7, 2023, Microsoft announced the new Bing in limited preview, meaning only a select number of people had access to it. This announcement came a day after Google announced its AI chatbot, Google Bard.

Yes, Copilot is accessible on mobile for both iPhone and Android devices via the Bing app. Although it's not solely dedicated to the chatbot, Copilot can be found in the bottom bar front and center as soon as you open the app.

Select users were given early access to the chatbot, and they were not shy about sharing their experiences. Many of these users tested the chatbot's capabilities and exposed its flaws, which were varied.

Consequently, Microsoft reeled in the chatbot with a new session limit, changing chat sessions from unlimited to a five-question limit, and a 50-chat turn limit per day. That limit was then expanded to six chat turns per session and 60 total chats per day, still less than the original experience users got.

ZDNET has tested both Copilot and Open AI's ChatGPT chatbot. We found Bing's version solved some of the major problems we had with ChatGPT, including knowledge of current events via internet access, and footnotes with links to sources from the information it pulled.

Copilot is also the only way to access OpenAI's latest LLM, GPT-4, and its multimodal input features for free. For these reasons, Copilot, formerly Bing Chat, earned its spot as ZDNET's overall best AI chatbot.

The Chat activity allows course participants to have a real-time synchronous discussion in a Moodle course. Different themes may be used (although note that you lose the conversation thread if you change mid-chat) and an accessible interface is available. 17dc91bb1f
