Free Books To Download To Ipad

1. Check your iBooks app: The iBooks app is the default app for reading books on an iPad. Look for the iBooks app on your home screen and open it. Your books should be listed in the "Library" section of the app. If you don't see your books there, try the next step.

2. Check your iCloud account: If you have iCloud enabled on your iPad, your books may be stored in the cloud. To check, go to Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive and see if the iBooks app is turned on. If it is, your books should be available in the iBooks app. If it's not turned on, you can turn it on and your books will be downloaded to your iPad.

3. Check your email: If you received the books via email, you may need to download them from the email app on your iPad. Open the email that contains the book and look for a download link or attachment. Tap on the link or attachment to download the book to your iPad.

4. Check the App Store: If you haven't already downloaded the iBooks app, you can search for it in the App Store and download it from there. Once you have the iBooks app installed, your books should appear in the app.

I've read through several solutions to this similar problem and none of the solutions work for me. I've uploaded several ebooks to my mac and they don't appear on the IPad. I've got content (PDF's) on my ipad that doesn't appear on my mac. For example, I've purchased 14 books that appear in the "cloud" and available for download on the Ipad but the purchases in Itunes show 2. I've updated my ipad, mac, ibook and itunes on both devices.

ebooks and/or PDFs that you've added to the iBooks app on your Mac will not show on your iPad unless you sync them to it, only ibooks bought from the iBookstore will potentially show in the cloud in the iBooks app on your iPad for redownloading on it. If not all of your ibook purchases are showing in your Mac's iTunes or iBooks apps (I'm assuming that you have Mavericks or Yosemite on your Mac) then try logging out and back into your account on it and see if they then show.

If you are using the 'sync collections' setting in Settings > iBooks on your iPad and in the iBooks app on your Mac then that does not copy books and/or PDFs between devices/computers, all it does is if you put a book/PDF into a collection on, say, your iPad, then if it is also in your Mac's iBooks app then it will be moved into the same collection on that - but if a book or PDF is not already on it then it won't copy it onto it.

Similarly to get PDFs and/or epubs from your Mac to your iPad, connect the iPad to your Mac, select it in your Mac's iTunes, and use its Books tab to select and sync the books/epubs that you want in its iBooks app.

Thanks for the reply. I've actually tried all the recommendations you've made to others. The 'transfer purchases' doesn't work for the PDF because they were added to my Ipad from email (or so the Apple support says). When they couldn't fix the syncing problem they said I'd have to reset my device because it doesn't sync correctly. For example, when I try to backup my ipad to the cloud using itunes, I see the message that the last time it was backed up was in November. I can back up the device to the computer just not to Icloud. They also suggested airdrop which doesn't work either. The mac sees my device but doesn't show documents I send it.

I actually found a program, IExplorer and paid $35 to get my content off my ipad and to my computer. I also had the same problem with my Iphone (couldn't transfer memos and pictures to itunes) so it turns out to be a good investment. I'm not sure how icloud is supposed to work but I assumed I'd have similar functionality to dropbox. I'm not quite sure what my subscription pays for. I'm only using 4G of data and there are images on both my devices that aren't in the cloud.

The Transfer Purchases has always copied PDFs (and epubs) from the iBooks app on my iPad (not just ibooks bought from the iBookstore) to my computer's iTunes, and (with Mavericks and Yosemite) I've then been able to copy them from iTunes to its iBooks app - I've just tried it again with a new PDF downloaded from a website and it still works (iPad is on iOS 8.1.2, Mac is on 10.10.1).

see attached images. According to ibook2 image all the PDF's have been deleted. According to ibook image, the PDF's still show in "all books" menu. The ibookMac images shows what's on my MAC (which matches Itunes). The itunesIpad image shows there are still 35 documents on my device.

I want to look at where printed books stand in respect to digital publishing, why we historically haven't read long-form text on screens and how the iPad is wedging itself in the middle of everything. In doing so I think we can find the line in the sand to define when content should be printed or digitized.

This is a conversation for books-makers, web-heads, content-creators, authors and designers. For people who love beautifully made things. And for the storytellers who are willing to take risks and want to consider the most appropriate shape and media for their yarns.

In printed books, the two-page spread was our canvas. It's easy to think similarly about the iPad. Let's not. The canvas of the iPad must be considered in a way that acknowledge the physical boundaries of the device, while also embracing the effective limitlessness of space just beyond those edges.

This is a small collection of images of books from my library that I feel embody the above ethos. They're books that embrace their physicality or have stood the test of time. They're the kinds of books the iPad can't displace because they're complete objects.

I have seen many inquiries regarding this same issue. It started with ios 15. I have tried all the work arounds. I am now on ios 15.4. Still having the problem. Apple needs to fix ios 15. Before you ask, yes I have plenty of memory. I have done restarts, etc, etc, etc. Is there a way to back up all my books to apply to another app?

Janine. Thank you for that. Mine when I download a new book seems to delete all my books then redownloads them. So frustrating. When you deleted the app and redownloaded did the books come back in the folders they were in all need to be put back into individual folders

I've logged into the cloud with the same user name and password. I've got books listed to sync on all devices. On my computer I have over 60 books and at least 60 audiobooks. On my iPhone I have 45 books and no audiobooks. On my iPad I have 8 books and no audiobooks. How do a get all the devices to show to same books and audiobooks?

I did not have some of the switches turned on on my iPhone. They were all correct on my iPad. It seemed to work with my iPhone but not my iPad. I saw the syncing message on my iPhone at the bottom of the Books Library page. Still no audiobook files. The Apple Book Users Guide says that audiobooks can be transferred. Here is the link See your books and audiobooks on all your devices with Books on Mac - Apple Support

I was able to sync both my iPhone and iPad by physically connecting with my iMac. I synced the audiobooks and books. They all came over. The iPhone was recognized in Finder but not the iPad. I had to go to Finder>Settings>Sidebar and select Recent. Then my iPad was recognized.

Is there no way to upload a document of any kind into the iPad version? I have some books which aren't available in the Logos store. I would like to use my iPad for it's intended use as an ebook reader editor. Thanks!

Hi Robert! I have no issues with other apps on the iPad, I was just hoping that I could use Logos for some of my ebooks because of the built in bible support and ability to sync and highlight etc. I guess this feature won't be added but I can still use my laptop for more indepth studying of my ebooks. Thanks again, God Bless!

What did happen is that I was reading one of the PDFs and the next time I opened it, the Book app was frozen. So, I shut off the ipad. When I turned it back on, I realized that I went from 130 PDFs to 4 losing nearly everything. Luckily, about 105 of the PDFs were on my iphone. So, I quickly bought more iCloud storage and transferred that there and then those PDFs were now back to my ipad, but I did lose 25 or so documents. I would really like to get these back and I do not know which ones I lost.

I've had the same problem. One of my friends gave me a slew of books in ePub and PDF format. Most of them are crap, but a few I really hoped to read. The only thing that has saved me is that I have iCloud backups of my iPad Pro.

I have tried several software to retrieve those pdf files with no result. Finally,I downloaded iMazing app from imazing.com, then installed iMazing app in my macbook pro. After read the manual, I found all of my missing pdf books collection in file system> books. Then I copy all of my pdf books to my folder in my mac book pro. This app saving my pdf book collection.

What if you could get your phone or tablet to read Kindle or other text aloud to you? I have recently come across an easy way to do this. This is an economics blog, so I will note that this approach saves considerable money versus paying for audio books like Audible, or paying for the Narration option on Kindle. Most of us already have text books we have bought from e.g. Kindle. Also, if you search on the subject, there are various sources for free on-line books, including hundreds of thousands titles available through Libby/Overdrive via your public library. This text-to-voice method should work with all of these e-books. 0852c4b9a8
