Please look over the forum as many people have resolved their issues with a few tips. I resolved my issue by first removing everything and cleaning up remaining remnant files, then downloading the appropriate programs (flash/reader, etc.), then hunting down the folder where it was loaded (mine was in my temp file as the download manager didn't work), then clicking the exe. file to open and run. Also, my security software was causing conflict for me too (that included browser and virus). I ended up having several downloads sitting in files that I had to clean up because I wasn't sure if I was installing at first, so check that. Other things include clearing your cache, and registry (if you need help, visit Microsoft.com/answers forum....another responsive company) and making sure you do a clean install.

Free Adobe Reader Download For Windows 8

I realize this is an old thread but recently enocuntered similar issues when installing Acrobat reader on an older computer running Win 7. I downloaded the program version 9.3.3. and it worked fine - link here -reader-9-3-3

I would like to see simultaneously pages in the beginning of the document and at the end. I can do that by opening the same document on different windows. But when I try to do so, the first instance opens and I can't open a second one. I'll will install a second PDF visualizer to do it, but I wonder if I could do something that didn't require such extreme measure.

I have windows 10 and acrobat reader DC. Acrobat will not open, just spins and then stops. PDFs will not open unless I open through email. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I have tried trouble shooting. not sure what else to do. I have read other threads that suggest opening Acrobat and changing settings but I cannot even open to get to settings.

hi. i read your response. I have windows 10 and my PD f's are being saved to Microsoft edge. I decided to purchase adobe acrobat user guide because the Adobe Reader I had would only allow me to read and I wanted to be able to edit my pages for move the pages around in my document. However I did everything that you told me but it won't show me a compatibility under the same category that you mentioned it doesn't have compatibility under properties so I'm wondering what to do from there

was having same problem, did everything that was suggested, cleaner, re-install etc... still had same issue. sigh... was getting really frustrated been trying to find a solution since we updated to windows 10. anyways for the heck of it, i clicked on "run compatibility troubleshooter" (from the properties of Adobe icon) then "try recommended setting", now i have done this before, but it always suggested i try compatibility with windows 7, this time it suggested windows 8..... and Hallelujah, it works!!

I'm hoping this post will add tot the noise and hopefully get attention drawn this way sooner. Have tried every fix mentioned in this thread. Have even messed with my registry, which I rarely do, based on other threads for simillar problems. I have regular desktop Acrobat DC installation so I can use it when I have no connectivity, which is often. This is a crippling problem that just started two days ago for me. Probably based on a windows update.

As I have written before. When I try to open PDF file in Reader, nothing happens - neither error message nor any other information. Only the "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (32 bit)" process running in the background (info from windows task manager). No interaction with user from Reader.

Hi, I face the same issue but my is worst because I cannot even open the reader dc itself, so I cannot make changes to the setting as suggested. I have stop all the background processes of reader dc at the task manager but still cannot run the application or open any file. Is there anyway I can go round to at least get the application running?

The issue of opening pdf files with Adobe Reader DC in Win 10 x64 is not solved. I have tried the : disabled checkbox Enable Protected Mode at startup and it does not work. These pdf files will open using Adobe Reader on my XP pro system and Win7 system using the supported/latest readers on those systems. So i know the pdf's are good. I tried to copy the pdf's to the C drive and that did not help. There are some pdf files on my D drive that will open. So I know that Reader DC is installed correctly. It appears that my older pdf files will not open in Firefox either. But other pdf files will. Something is wrong with Adobe Reader DC in its inability to read some but not other pdf files. Is Adobe reading this forum ?

I cannot open acrobat reader dc at all so I cannot do the recommended steps: Open Reader, navigate to Edit menu -> Preferences -> Security Enhances & disable the Protected mode. How do I get Acrobat DC to operate? I have called Adobe but they do not provide live technical support for Acrobat Reader. The best I could do with them was email a query to one of their communities, which a manager told me was Adobe employee technical support. They are supposed to reply by email but it has been 1.5 hours with no reply. If you can help I'd appreciate it.

If your inm this situation if you FIRST go to task manager and delete all running instances of Adobe, THEN try to open a PDF, it will, or at least it does here, open. BUT, you must change the preferences (above) to ensure adobe can work in the future, without goiung to task manager each time

I have windows 8 operating system. I have the similar issues as others. I am not able to open the reader nor the file. I tried closing all the adobe processes from task manager still no change. When I click on the reader or the document nothing happen.

I tried deleting adobe from task manager that did not help. It did say 32 bit in task manager and I have 64 bit. I went to adobe and it automatically installed so I do not know why it said 32 bit in task manager.

I'm having a problem while trying to open a PDF file using Process.Start().The program runs the process as a background process but no adobe reader window show up. A solution i found was to use chrome.exe, but my client want to open on adobe-reader, as it's the default windows program.

I did an in-place upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10. Acrobat reader was previously installed under W10. This is the only program with this trouble, all others came through the upgrade without any problems.

I had the same problem, windows task manager said adobe x not working, I kept the program running and after a 10 minute delay , voila , it is working. I have no idea what happened but I will keep my fingers crossed.

You can make basic edits using a PDF reader, many of which are available as free versions. You'll also find plenty of PDF editors that have fewer features than Acrobat, making them the ideal choice for casual users or those who don't need anything too complex. If you need to make more in-depth edits, batch process files, or convert between file types, then a fully-fledged PDF editor is the best choice for you.

We've tested hundreds of document creation and editing tools, including the best PDF readers for Windows , the best PDF readers for Mac, and even feature-focused programs like the the best PDF compressors and best PDF merger software. So, when it comes to alternatives to Acrobat, we know what to look out for and what to avoid.

Win32k is the kernel driver that supports the Graphics Device Interface. It allows application through the Win32 API to create graphical objects such as windows. A malicious attacker that has already gained arbitrary code execution on a machine can leverage that vulnerability to get arbitrary code execute in the context of the Kernel and elevate its privilege to SYSTEM. This vulnerability is being exploited in the wild. 0852c4b9a8
