I am a PhD Student at the Department of Economics and Business Economics at Aarhus University and part of the Platform for Inequality Research at Aarhus University (PIREAU).
I will continue my employment at the department as a postdoc from 2025-2028 funded by the Spar Nord Foundation on a grant titled "Income inequality between women and men: causes and practical advice".
I will be participating in the 8th Lindau Nobel Meeting in Economic Sciences, August 2025.
During the fall of 2023, I visited the Yale Department of Economics as a Visiting Assistant in Research.

More about my project
I investigate the economic causes of the increasing income inequality. I particularly focus on individual decisions related to educational program choices, whom to marry (marriage markets), and career choices related to occupational career paths and the division of time between labor supply and home production.
These decisions may impact the increasing income inequality through mechanisms of:
Increased selectivity (sorting) in educational program-, partner-, and occupation choice
Persistence in the gender wage gap
Geographical differences in the availability of education, partners, and jobs
I study these mechanisms with Danish administrative data, and I apply both microeconometric methods and structural economic models.
What does love have to do with inequality? Let me try to explain in just 3 minutes ⏱️
In March 2025, I had the pleasure of participating in the interdisciplinary 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition at Aarhus University. You can watch my pitch in the video just below.
The challenge was as follows: In just 3 minutes, pitch your research to a broad audience in a non-technical language with only one slide. And what a great challenge, because how do you boil down the complexity of your research and deliver it persuasively in just 3 minutes? Fortunately, we received excellent coaching in preparation for the event, and I learned quite a few tricks that I can make great use of in the future.
Thank you to the 3MT team at Aarhus University and all my fellow contestants for making this a fun and enjoyable experience full of learning!
If you want to know more about the research behind the pitch, please check out our working paper “Educational Ambition, Marital Sorting, and Inequality” in the research section.
