Around the shop at Bike Doctor Frederick there had always been talk about the day that an official mountain bike race could be held in the Frederick Watershed. What would the course be? How would the race capture the raw, rugged experience of the 'Shed? Which locals would have the edge on the competition? The questions seemed to outnumber the answers... Until 2018. With all the exciting work the Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts had been doing in conjunction with the City of Frederick the day had finally come. The 'Shed was ready for its debut and we at Bike Doctor Frederick were proud to answer the call.
The key mission of the Bike Doctor Sheduro is to support the City of Frederick and the Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts in preserving the unique trail experience that the Frederick Watershed offers. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the MORE Frederick Watershed fund, with the express purpose of building trails that provide the gravity-focused experience that gave the 'Shed its reputation. The first Bike Doctor Sheduro was held August 19th, 2018 and was a great success. Among racers, volunteers, sponsors and spectators alike the mood was one of celebration; everyone was stoked to see the local riding community come together to enjoy the gem that is the Frederick Watershed. Not only was the race a ton of fun for everyone involved, it exceeded our expectations and raised over $4,300 to be used in building new trails! After such a great start, there was no doubt we would return in 2019 to do it again!
