Francis William Touola Meda

About Me:

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in the Politics department at New York University (NYU). My research interests span a broad spectrum within Political Economy, Comparative Politics, and Formal Models. I have cultivated a research agenda that uses game theoretical models to investigate an array of themes encompassing political institutions, ethnic politics, bureaucracy, elections, and governance, with a distinctive focus on non-democratic contexts. In my current research project,  I use formal models to study how autocrats negotiate the internal threat from the officials with whom they rule. It ties these internal struggles for power to broader questions of regime longevity and governance. I'm also interested in strategies to improve governance in weakly institutionalized and divided societies.
