Is that not an absolutely heinous site? People ending their lives on a filthy public street surrounded by a number of other dead bodies. A tasteless, foul death I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.
Everyday I must walk through these streets, tiptoeing around the endless carcasses, all to make it to the next patient that I still don’t know how to save.
My name is Francesco da Montefeltro, a Venetian 20 year old doctor traveling through the streets of Siena. A wave of doctors have died in this city, and I’ve been stationed here for a while making various house calls and trying to fill up the vacancies. In actuality, I really must not be practicing. I have barely even trained in my profession, but the church and the government cannot spare a single moment. The people in our beloved Tuscany have been dropping like flies, all succumbing to the cruel hands of the evil plague.
I am writing this journal in hopes that it may help the next doctor who needs it. Maybe this way I can leave whatever knowledge I find to find a cure for this killer, to feel like I have done something to truly help. As well, I will be documenting this great city and all of what stands out to me, for I do not know what history will be preserved through all this, or if there will be anyone left to share it.
