Organisation of the High School
EAFC Frameries is part of the education network organised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
Its missions are defined by the Decree of 16 April 1991, which regulates our teaching, under the authority of the steering body which is the "Conseil général".
This decree defines the main aims of "Enseignement de Promotion sociale", namely:
· contribute to individual development by promoting better professional, social, cultural and educational integration
. respond to the training needs and demands of enterprises, education administrations and the socio-economic and cultural community
Buildings
The seat of the high school, slightly off-centre, is located at the back of the Place Communale, in front of the Sainte-Waudru church, which separates it from a square and a war memorial. It turns its back on the Parc Communal.
It has three levels and is the left wing of a building perpendicular to the street, the other half of which is occupied by the City's administrative services. All the classrooms have front facade or street view. It has a car park of about 30 parking spaces reserved for staff or guests. The single entrance, accessible to people with reduced mobility, is under the courtyard; its surroundings decorated with plants are equipped with tables and benches.
Another site, with a car park also, is located in a narrow adjacent street; it includes workshops (dedicated to electricity, heating and welding formations) as well as a large classroom and smaller spaces for practical work.
Resources and services
EAFC has various resources at its disposal to offer students adapted services .
The secretariat is a front-line service that:
· assists students individually in all their administrative formalities (constitution of registration forms, orientation, attendance, ...)
· promotes integration and interaction among members of the EAFC
· if necessary, refers to the resource persons (administrative, pedagogical, management or external agencies)
· can relay to a person who speaks English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch
· manages a paid photocopying and binding service
· delivers student cards
· has an electronic payment terminal
Students
· can use a search screen connected to the Internet in the lobby
· can use the many individual PCs located in the "cyber" classrooms (on request for a login)
· can print the results of their work on PC for a fee
· can connect to WiFi, via numerous relays in each corridor and classroom
· attend classes in classrooms equipped with data projectors, removable screens, audio equipment, large-format televisions, interactive whiteboards, etc.
· use a pedagogical platform -in French- dedicated to academic resources and e-Learning: virtual library (online library, "épreuve intégrée" available for consultation, official forms to complete...), downloadable documents and online exercises, tutorials,...
· benefit from an Android application for schedules
· are guaranteed to be looked after in case of danger by trained staff members with a first aid certificate
Our High School is also committed to making everyday life as enjoyable as possible :
· supply of a microwave oven, water fountains and dispensers for drinks, soups, coffee, sweets,...
· daily service to order sandwiches, hot snacks, pasta cones,... delivered by a local shopkeeper
· possibility of ordering meals from the kitchen section, two days a week for a democratic price
· organization of themed meals or snacks several times during the academic year (e. g."cupcake month"), the proceeds of which are donated to social or medical research associations
· wooden picnic tables outside, sheltered
· waste sorting and sustainable energy management from a citizen's perspective
About our institute's history
Our High School was born in 1897.
Its place in the current landscape of adult education is therefore no longer to be demonstrated: an astonishing longevity thanks to an undeniable capacity to adapt to societal changes.
