Framewise Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-25
Framewise ("Framewise", "we", "us", or "the app") is built and operated by the Framewise team. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not handle, how the app's AI features work, and the choices and rights you have. By using Framewise, you agree to the practices described below.
Framewise is a client-only iOS app. There is no Framewise account, no Framewise server, and no backend operated by us that stores your content. Everything described here happens either on your device or, for AI features, directly between your device and our AI provider.
Summary
We do not require an account and do not collect personal information.
We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or third-party trackers.
The only time your data leaves your device is when you take a photo in the guided flow: that single photo is sent directly to our AI provider (Replicate) to generate composition guidance and a filter suggestion, then the result is returned to you.
We do not retain your photos, suggestions, or edited outputs on any server we control.
Photos you choose to keep are saved to your own iOS Photos library. You can erase the app's on-device data at any time from Settings.
Information we collect
Personal information. None. Framewise has no sign-up, no login, no email collection, no contacts access, and no advertising identifier. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share data with data brokers.
Usage analytics. None. The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs and does not transmit usage statistics to us or to any third party.
Camera. Framewise requests access to your camera so you can frame and take photos inside the app. The live camera feed is shown only in the viewfinder on your device and is not recorded, streamed, or transmitted by us. A photo is captured only when you tap the shutter.
Photo library. Framewise requests add-only access to your Photos library so it can save the photos you choose to keep. The app uses this permission solely to write images you explicitly save. It does not read, scan, browse, or upload your existing photo library.
How the AI features work
Framewise uses a guided shooting flow. After you take your first shot, the app sends that one photo directly from your device to Replicate, our third-party AI provider, to analyze the composition and recommend a look. Replicate processes the request and returns:
composition guidance (for example, where to place your subject, horizon level, and framing notes), and
a filter or color suggestion for the shot.
The app then overlays that guidance on the live viewfinder so you can reframe and take a second shot, and offers to apply the suggested filter before you save. Only the image data needed to fulfill your request is transmitted, and only at the moment you trigger analysis by capturing a photo. Your photo is sent to Replicate over an encrypted connection.
We do not store your photos, the AI's suggestions, or your edited outputs on any server operated by us — we operate no such server. Replicate's handling of the request is governed by Replicate's own privacy policy, available at https://replicate.com/privacy. We encourage you to review it to understand how your request is processed on their infrastructure.
The text language of the AI's written tips can be changed in Settings; this preference is stored on your device and included with the request only to tell the model which language to write in.
On-device storage
Your settings (such as appearance, AI tip language, grid preference, and the "save outputs to Photos" toggle) and any temporary processing caches live on your device only. Photos you choose to keep are stored in your iOS Photos library, which is controlled by you and by Apple's system settings, not by Framewise.
You can delete the app's caches and stored preferences at any time: open Settings → Clear all data. This wipes the app's history, saved outputs cache, and caches immediately and cannot be undone. Photos you have already saved into your Photos library are not affected by this action and remain under your control in the Photos app. Deleting (uninstalling) the app also removes its on-device data.
Legal basis and your rights
Because Framewise does not collect or store personal information on any server we control, there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, export, or delete. Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or similar laws apply:
Right to access / portability. We hold no personal data about you to provide.
Right to correction. Not applicable, as we store no personal data.
Right to deletion. Your on-device data is deleted automatically when you uninstall the app or use "Clear all data."
Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We never sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
For the portion of processing performed by Replicate when you request AI guidance, please refer to Replicate's privacy policy for the rights and choices available to you with respect to their processing.
If you have questions or wish to exercise any right, contact us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable period and as required by applicable law.
Data retention
Framewise retains no personal data, because none is collected on a server we operate. On-device preferences and caches persist only until you clear them or uninstall the app. AI requests are transmitted to Replicate only to fulfill your immediate request and are not retained by Framewise afterward.
Children's privacy
Framewise is rated 4+ and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information from any user, it does not knowingly collect it from children either. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will address it.
International users
Framewise is operated without a backend, so we do not transfer your personal data across borders ourselves. When you use the AI features, your photo is sent to Replicate, which may process the request on infrastructure located outside your country of residence. By using the AI features, you understand that the request is processed by Replicate under its own privacy policy and applicable safeguards.
Security
Your photo is transmitted to Replicate over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection. On-device data is protected by iOS's standard app sandboxing and the device protections you have enabled (such as a passcode or Face ID). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we limit exposure by collecting nothing centrally and by sending only the data needed to fulfill each request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the updated policy at the same URL. Significant changes will be reflected here; your continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
