OVERVIEW
Glasses Size does not require an account, and we do not sell personal information. You take or choose a photo of your face, or of a pair of glasses lying flat, next to a bank-card-sized card (or an A4 or Letter sheet for glasses), tap points on the photo, and the app calculates a frame size such as 52-18-140, your face width, your pupillary distance (PD) and related values. You can also check a shop's frame size against your measurements. Your results are kept in the app's storage on your device. The app also uses Google services and an advertising mediation partner for analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and advertising.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Profiles: the app starts with one profile ("Me"), and you can add profiles for other people. A profile has an optional name, a child setting and a creation time. There is no fixed limit on the number of profiles.
For each profile the app keeps its latest face result: face width and its uncertainty, PD, its per-eye values and its uncertainty, nose width, the bridge estimate and your bridge-height answer, the photo distance you chose, up to 3 saved readings (face width and PD; only readings from the last 30 days are used for the median, but older readings can stay stored until a new reading replaces them or you delete the profile), the sunglasses setting, the size you selected, and, if you kept the photo, a reference to it with the geometry needed to show sizes on it. It also keeps the profile's measured pair of glasses: lens width, bridge, lens height, total width and, if measured, temple length.
History keeps up to 50 entries across all profiles; when you save more, the oldest entries are removed. A face entry holds the face width, its uncertainty, PD, the selected size and any kept photo reference; a glasses entry holds the frame values; a compare entry holds the frame size you entered, the comparison basis, the total-width difference and the result wording. Each entry also has its profile, time and calculation version.
While a measurement is unfinished, the app keeps its photo, the points you tapped, the mode, distance or reference object and the profile it belongs to, so you can continue it from the Measure screen after the app restarts.
The app may also store basic operating information such as your settings (unit, card or reference type, default distance, haptics, whether to keep photos, frame material), which profile is selected, counts of saves and completed actions used to space ads, review request progress, whether the introduction has been shown, a launch count, cached advertising settings and a cached More Apps list. If a stored item cannot be read, the app keeps one copy of the unreadable text under a separate name and starts that item fresh.
The developer does not run a server that receives your measurements or photos. The app reads developer-controlled advertising settings and a More Apps list from Google Cloud Firestore, but it does not upload your measurements, photos, profile names or the sizes you type. When you open "Developer's other apps" in the menu, app icons are loaded from the web addresses in that list.
CAMERA, PHOTOS AND PERMISSIONS
Camera: the app asks for camera permission on the camera screen when you tap the button to allow it. The camera is used to take one still photo for measuring; the app does not record video or sound. If you deny the permission, you can choose a photo from your gallery instead, or open Android settings from the camera screen to allow it later.
Gallery: when you choose a photo, the Android photo picker opens and only the picture you choose is given to the app; the app does not ask for access to all your photos. The picker may place a copy of that picture in the app's cache, which the app does not delete; Android may clear it later.
Each photo is re-saved by the app as a working copy in its cache (after a camera photo has been re-saved, the camera's original file is deleted). Measurements are calculated on your device from the points you tap; the app does not detect faces automatically and does not upload the photo. The working copy is deleted when you discard or leave the measurement, take another photo or start a new measurement, or otherwise the next time the app starts, except the photo of an unfinished measurement, which is kept until you finish or discard it or delete its profile. If a deletion fails, the file can remain in the cache until Android clears it.
Kept photos: only if "Keep this photo for size previews" is on when you save a face result (off by default; the default can be changed in Settings), the app copies the photo into its private storage so you can preview frame sizes on it later. The app deletes a kept photo when no saved result refers to it any more, for example after you delete its History entry or delete the profile.
A photo of your face is personal information, and a photo with a card can show the card's details. The app suggests using the back of the card or covering its number.
The app does not request microphone, location, contacts, Bluetooth, health data, notification or photo-library permissions. It uses internet access and the Android advertising ID permission for the services below, and vibration for short haptic feedback (which you can turn off in Settings).
ANALYTICS, CRASH REPORTING, AND ADS
Google Firebase Analytics may process limited app-usage and technical information, such as app launches and screen views; a launch count; measurement starts (mode and where you started), photo source, photo-picker results and camera permission results; captures, point undos and abandoned measurements (mode and step); results shown (whether valid and the number of quality warnings) and the type of each quality warning; saved results (mode, adult or child profile, whether the photo was kept), save failures and completed 3-reading series; restored unfinished measurements; shares (text or image); compare checks (the format of the size you typed, the comparison basis and whether it exists) and saved compares; size-preview, "How to read a frame size" and History entry opens and History deletes (entry type); tab changes; settings changes and their values; distance, bridge-height, sunglasses and frame-material choices; profile additions (child or not), deletions and switches; introduction completion; storage read errors (data type); ad offers (screen), launch ads shown and ad revenue events (ad format, value, currency and precision); review request steps and menu taps for Review and "Developer's other apps"; app version, device type, and app-instance identifiers. These events do not include your measured values, photos, profile names or the sizes you type.
Google Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports and related technical information needed to diagnose app problems.
The app shows ads through Google AdMob. A banner may appear at the bottom of the Measure, Compare and History tabs, the photo guide, result screens, "How to read a frame size", Settings and Profiles; banners are not shown on the camera, point-tapping and size-preview screens. Full-screen ads may appear when the app opens or returns to the foreground, and occasionally after you save a result and are back on the Measure, Compare or History tab (not after your first save). AdMob may also request ads from the InMobi mediation network. Google and InMobi may process advertising identifiers and device, app, consent, network, and ad-performance information to provide and measure ads, and may use an IP address to estimate an approximate location even though the app has no location permission.
ADVERTISING CHOICES
When the app starts, before it loads any ads, it checks Google's consent message (UMP). Where consent is required (for example in the EEA and UK), personalized ads are requested only if your choices allow them; otherwise ads are non-personalized. Where Google reports that consent is not required, ads may be personalized. If the consent result does not allow ad requests, the app does not request ads. If the consent check fails (for example, the consent message cannot be loaded), the app still requests non-personalized ads, and "Privacy choices" is not shown until the app is started again. Where Google requires it, the menu shows "Privacy choices", which reopens the consent message so you can change your advertising choice. The app works whatever you choose.
STORAGE AND YOUR CONTROL
In History, tap the trash icon on an entry and confirm to remove it. Deleting a History entry does not change the profile's latest face result or measured glasses shown on the Measure screen, except that a kept photo used by both is removed. Measuring again replaces the latest face result or measured glasses. In Profiles, you can rename a profile or, after a confirmation, delete it; deleting a profile removes its latest face result, measured glasses, History entries and unfinished measurement. The last remaining profile cannot be deleted. On the Measure screen you can discard an unfinished measurement. To remove all of the app's data, including the copies of unreadable data described above, clear the app's storage in Android settings or delete the app.
The app is set up so that Android does not include its data in Google cloud backups or device-to-device transfers.
When you share a result, "Share as text" sends a line with the app name, face width and, when available, size and PD, and "Share as image" sends a picture of the result card (size, size choices, fit range and face width) through the system share sheet to a destination you choose. The image file is written to the app's cache and the app does not delete it; Android may clear it later. The app does not delete copies you shared elsewhere.
Because we do not receive your measurements or photos, we cannot delete them for you; the controls above remove them from the app. For questions about data processed by Google or InMobi, or to ask us for help with a privacy request, contact us at the address below.
Data processed by third parties is retained according to their service settings and policies. We use these services under their applicable terms, and we ensure that third-party service providers with whom we share user data provide the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy.

SECURITY
Your measurements, profiles and photos are kept in the app's private storage on your device, which the operating system protects from other apps; they are not separately encrypted by the app, so protect your device with a screen lock. Apart from the limited analytics events described above, the app does not upload your saved data. Communication between the app and Google services and the ad mediation partner uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what the app collects to what is described in this policy.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Glasses Size gives estimates for choosing frames. Results depend on the photo, the card or sheet, the distance and the points you tap, and values such as face width and PD are shown with their uncertainty; the nose bridge and some face-width corrections are estimates. The app is not a medical device and does not test your eyes. For prescription lenses and progressive lens fitting, follow the measurements taken by your optician. Check sizes with the seller before you buy.
CHILDREN
The app is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. An adult may add a profile for a family member, including a child, and store that person's measurements and photos on the device; only measure people who have agreed, or whom you are responsible for. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
CHANGES
We may update this policy if the app or its services change. The date above shows the latest revision.
