The Frontiers in Physics of Soft and Biological Matter conference will be organised during September 25 - 30, 2023, at the Raman Research Institute (RRI), Bengaluru, India.

This conference is part of a series of celebrations to mark the 75th year of the founding of RRI by Nobel Laureate Sir CV Raman.

The conference will cover a range of areas, such as Rheology, Jamming transition, Active matter, Liquid Crystals, and Biophysics. The meeting will include seminars by leading experts from around the globe and discussion sessions to explore future challenges in the areas of soft materials, non-equilibrium statistical physics and the physics of living systems. Apart from their fundamental importance from a basic science perspective, these complex systems are of paramount importance in developing cutting-edge applications and designing novel smart materials, drug delivery strategies, display technologies, etc.

The Venue

The Raman Research Institute was founded in 1948 by the Indian physicist and Nobel Laureate Sir C V Raman to continue his fundamental research post-retirement.

The institute is located in Sadashivanagar, in the heart of Bengaluru city. The institute provides lush greenery and peaceful surroundings, making it an ideal place for conducting research and an escape from bustling city life.
