Director of Faith Formation

Purpose
To form and nurture the faith of the children, youth, and adults of the church so they can become more faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, with particular attention to cultivating vibrant, relational, and culturally appropriate ministries.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary leader of the youth ministry, providing vision, relational leadership, and consistent programming that fosters spiritual growth, belonging, and discipleship
Assist in organizing faith formation opportunities for children, youth, and adults, and accompany them to off-site programs as needed
Build strong relationships between faith formation ministries and the other ministries of the church to encourage intergenerational connection and shared mission
Plan and facilitate special worship services and events that involve children and youth
Participate in faith formation ministries sponsored by Presbytery, Synod, or General Assembly
Recruit, train, and support faith formation teachers and youth advisors
Recruit, develop, and empower members of the Faith Formation Ministry Team, with intentional attention to recognizing and honoring the diverse cultural styles, gifts, and leadership expressions within the congregation
Serve as supervisor of the Nursery Attendant and provide nursery services as needed
Monitor, assess, and help shape structures and programs in the faith formation ministry to ensure that they reflect and build upon the broad cultural diversity of the congregation
Provide staff support for the Faith Formation Ministry Team, equipping them for shared leadership and ministry effectiveness
Follow and implement the church’s Child Protection Policy
Terms of Position
This is a full-time position with a salary of $48,000 to $57,000 commensurate with experience.
