Fotios Pasiouras is Full Professor of Banking & Finance at MBS School of Business (France), Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society, a member of the Banking Stakeholder Group of the European Banking Authority, and Adjunct/Visiting Professor at the Hellenic Open University. Additionally, he is one of the Editors-in-Chief of the International Journal of Banking, Accounting and Finance and Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Stability


He has held faculty positions in the U.K. (Universities of Bath, Surrey, Portsmouth) and in Greece (Technical University of Crete). He has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Portsmouth (Faculty of Business & Law), a Visiting Research Fellow/Scholar at European & U.S. universities, Co-Coordinator of the EURO Working Group on Efficiency & Productivity Analysis (European Operational Research Society), Co-Director of the Centre for Money, Banking and Institutions (University of Surrey), Co-Director of Research at the Financial Engineering Laboratory (Technical University of Crete), and Subject Editor of the Emerging Markets Review and the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money,


His biography has appeared in the “Marquis Who’s Who in the World”, while his research has received awards from the MBS School of Business (2024 and 2025; formerly Montpellier Business School), Hellenic Open University (2025), University of Bath School of Management (2008), Coventry University (2005), and Emerald Publishing (2008, 2009). His name has appeared in various lists, consistently ranking him in the top 1.5% authors worldwide in social sciences (SSRN), Top 4% Authors in Economics -based on research publication over the last 10 years (IDEAS/RePEc), “Top Young Economists” (IDEAS/RePEc), Top 2% scientists worldwide (Baas - Boyack - Ioannidis ranking), etc. 


His research focuses on risk, performance, corporate governance and regulations in the financial industry. Additionally, he has a strong interest on the effect of national culture and social capital on financial economics.
