Is Forster Collective Garden Right For You?
Operating as a Collective, FCG differs from typical allotment-style community gardens. IN ADDITION TO growing food in your designated plot for personal use, ALL MEMBERS ALSO COMMIT to work in developing and maintaining our other Collective Garden spaces:
Donation garden (harvest is donated to the Richmond Hill Food Bank)
Herb garden
Native Species garden
Pollinator garden
FCG Members are responsible for maintaining their personal garden plot throughout the season, including watering, pruning, weeding, harvesting and organic pest and/or disease control as required.
The City of Richmond Hill provides us with well water access, disposal bins, bulk wood chips and leaves at no charge to our members.
