If you want a fully functional wireless gaming headset for ps5 with deep bass and long battery life, choose FOSA Head Mounted Headphone; if you need a rugged, hard-shell carrying case specifically designed to protect Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO or DT 770 PRO studio headphones during travel, choose Mchoi Hard.
These two products occupy completely different corners of the audio ecosystem. One is an active listening device meant to be worn, while the other is a passive container meant to hold a different set of headphones. Confusing them would be a costly mistake. The FOSA unit is built for immersion, portability, and direct audio delivery through its own drivers. The Mchoi unit is built purely for survival, offering a durable shell to shield expensive studio monitors from the rigors of commuting or road trips. You cannot use one as a substitute for the other, but understanding their distinct roles clarifies exactly which one belongs in your cart today.
• FOSA Head Mounted Headphone: Strengths include rotatable ear cups, adjustable headbands, and skin-friendly earmuffs designed for all-day comfort; trade-off is that it is a wired-only device requiring a 3.5mm jack connection.
• Mchoi Hard: Strengths include a waterproof EVA hard shell, soft Lycra lining, and a reinforced handle for safe transport; trade-off is that it is empty and only compatible with specific Beyerdynamic models, not a standalone audio product.
• Who each pick is for: Choose FOSA for gamers and music lovers seeking a plug-and-play listening experience; choose Mchoi for studio professionals who already own high-end open-back headphones and need maximum protection on the go.
The FOSA Head Mounted Headphone is designed for users who prioritize comfort and versatility in a compact package. Its most defining feature is the adjustability. The headband is easily adjustable, and the ear cups rotate to fit various head shapes. This isn't just marketing fluff; the design ensures that the weight is distributed evenly, preventing the pressure points that often plague over-ear designs after an hour of wear. The ear cushions are made from skin-friendly materials that are both soft and breathable. If you plan on watching movies or listening to music for extended sessions, this breathability is crucial to prevent sweat buildup and discomfort.
For the casual listener or the gamer looking for a budget-friendly entry point, this headset offers a straightforward stereo experience. It features dynamic drivers capable of a frequency range from 20Hz to 20,000Hz, which covers the full spectrum of human hearing. The sensitivity sits at 103dB ± 3dB, suggesting it can get reasonably loud without needing excessive power from your source device. With an impedance of 32 ohms, it pairs well with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and portable media players without requiring an external amplifier. The output power of 20mw*2 ensures a clean signal with distortion kept below 1%, meaning you won't hear crackling even at higher volumes.

However, this product has a clear limitation that defines its user base. It is strictly a wired headset. It relies on a 3.5mm jack for connectivity, meaning you cannot enjoy true wireless freedom. While it supports TF cards for local storage, it does not offer Bluetooth streaming. This makes it an excellent choice for people who want to avoid charging anxiety or latency issues common in wireless gaming headsets, but it is not ideal for someone who needs to move freely around a room while playing games on a console like the PS5 unless they have a long cable management solution.
The foldable design is another major selling point. The unit collapses into a compact size, making it incredibly easy to slip into a backpack or bag. This portability is unmatched by many larger, bulkier studio monitors. If you are a student traveling between classes, a commuter, or a traveler who wants to bring music everywhere without the hassle of bulky gear, this fits the bill perfectly. It is lightweight, sturdy, and simple. It is not a high-fidelity audiophile reference tool, but it delivers a solid, enjoyable listening experience for everyday tasks like video calls, YouTube videos, and mobile gaming.
The Mchoi Hard is not a headphone; it is a protective fortress for one. If you own Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO or DT 770 PRO Open Studio Headphones, you know they are prized for their sound quality but vulnerable to damage. These are large, open-back studio monitors that are notoriously fragile when tossed into a generic bag. The Mchoi case is engineered specifically to solve this problem. It features a hard EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) exterior that resists squashing, knocks, and bumps. This rigid shell is the first line of defense against the crushing weight of books, laptops, or luggage that might otherwise crush the delicate headbands and ear pads of your expensive equipment.
Inside, the protection continues with a super-soft Lycra lining. This material is gentle enough to scratch-free your headphones while providing a snug fit. The case dimensions are precise: 9 x 6.8 x 4.3 inches, with a maximum compatible device size of 4.3 inches, ensuring a "perfect fit" for the specified Beyerdynamic models. There is no wiggling room where the headphones could slide around and hit the walls of the case. Instead, the interior is tailored to cradle the headphones securely. Additionally, a built-in mesh pocket provides dedicated space for accessories like cables, adapters, or manual inserts, keeping everything organized in one place.
Durability is a key theme here. The case includes a durable, reinforced handle for easy carrying, and a portable hand strap allows you to grab it quickly. Some versions feature a distinctive zipper stitched with red and blue threads, adding a touch of visual identity, though the primary function remains protection. The case is also water-resistant, offering an extra layer of safety against accidental spills or rain during a commute. Whether you are a musician traveling to a gig, a podcaster heading to a recording session, or a producer moving between studios, this case ensures your gear arrives in pristine condition.
It is vital to understand what this product is not. It does not produce sound. It does not have drivers, batteries, or microphones. It is an empty shell sold alone. If you do not own the specific Beyerdynamic models listed, this case will likely not fit your headphones properly, rendering it useless. The design is singular in its purpose: preservation. It is for the person who values their equipment enough to invest in specialized storage. The orange and black color scheme makes it easy to spot in a pile of bags, and the sturdy construction means it will last for years of heavy travel.
• Best for immersive gaming audio → FOSA Head Mounted Headphone, due to its integrated stereo drivers and low distortion output.
• Best for protecting expensive studio gear → Mchoi Hard, because of its rigid EVA shell and custom fit for Beyerdynamic models.
• Best for long-wearing comfort → FOSA Head Mounted Headphone, featuring adjustable headbands and breathable, soft ear pads.
• Best for travel durability → Mchoi Hard, offering water resistance and impact protection that a soft fabric headphone bag cannot match.
• Best for wireless freedom → Neither; both options are limited by design (FOSA is wired, Mchoi is a case), so neither suits those needing Bluetooth connectivity.
• Best for compact portability → FOSA Head Mounted Headphone, as it folds down small enough to fit in any carry-on without a separate box.
• Best for accessory organization → Mchoi Hard, with its dedicated mesh pocket for storing cables and dongles alongside the headphones.
• Best for budget-conscious buyers → FOSA Head Mounted Headphone, as it functions as a complete audio solution rather than just an accessory.
I would buy the FOSA Head Mounted Headphone if my goal was to listen to music or play games on my PS5 right now. It is a complete product that solves the immediate need for audio playback with a focus on comfort and ease of use. The ability to adjust the fit and the foldable design make it practical for daily life. However, I would never buy the Mchoi Hard unless I already owned the specific Beyerdynamic headphones it is designed to hold. It is a fantastic piece of engineering for protection, but it is not a replacement for a listening device. For a general shopper looking for a wireless gaming headset for ps5 or a reliable pair of earphones, the FOSA is the only logical choice. The Mchoi is a niche tool for a very specific group of audio professionals who need to keep their open-back monitors safe. In my opinion, if you need sound, get the FOSA. If you need a vault for your existing sound, get the Mchoi.
No, the FOSA model is a wired headset that connects via a 3.5mm jack. It does not support Bluetooth, so you must have a physical connection to your device to use it.
The Mchoi case is designed specifically for the Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO and DT 770 PRO models. Because these headphones have unique dimensions and headband sizes, other brands may not fit securely or at all.
No, the listing is for the protective case only. The headphones and any accessories are not included in the purchase; you must buy the Beyerdynamic headphones separately.
The adjustable headband and rotatable ear cups are also designed to reduce pressure points during extended wear.
