Welcome to Formi: Edit & Convert (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our file format conversion services (the “Services”) through any means, including our mobile application and website.
Please read these Terms carefully before using the App. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you must immediately stop using the App.
1.1 The App provides online file format conversion services, including but not limited to document conversion (e.g., DOCX → PDF, DOCX → EPUB) and video conversion (e.g., MOV → MP4).
1.2 All conversion processing is performed by our own servers or local device engines, without integrating any third‑party APIs or external conversion services. We reserve the right to adjust the conversion methods as technology evolves.
1.3 We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue part or all of the Services at any time without prior notice, though we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via in‑App announcements in advance when feasible.
2.1 The App does not require mandatory registration. You may use basic conversion features as a guest.
2.2 If you choose to register an account (if such option is available), you must provide accurate, complete, and up‑to‑date information, and you are solely responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. The App shall not be liable for any unauthorised access or disclosure caused by your own negligence.
2.3 You are fully responsible for all activities conducted under your account, including file uploads and conversion operations.
When using the App, you agree NOT to:
3.1 Upload, convert, or distribute any files or content that violate applicable laws and regulations, endanger national security, undermine ethnic unity, promote terrorism or extremism, contain obscenity, gambling, violence, defamation, or infringe upon the lawful rights of others;
3.2 Upload files containing viruses, trojans, worms, ransomware, or other malicious code, or engage in any activity that may disrupt the normal operation of our servers;
3.3 Attempt to bypass technical restrictions, reverse‑engineer, crack, penetrate, or otherwise unauthorisedly access the App or its underlying systems;
3.4 Use the App for bulk uploading or conversion of files unrelated to normal personal use, or engage in scraping, abusive requests, or other improper activities;
3.5 Infringe upon any third party’s intellectual property rights (including copyrights, trademarks, patents) or trade secrets.
If you violate any of the above, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately, delete related files, and report such conduct to the relevant authorities.
4.1 Your uploaded files: All intellectual property rights in the files you upload remain with you or the original rights holders. The App merely performs conversion at your instruction and does not claim any ownership over your file contents.
4.2 Converted files: Intellectual property rights in the output files likewise remain with you or the original rights holders. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the lawful right to convert the original files. Any infringement claims arising from unauthorised conversion of others’ works shall be borne entirely by you.
4.3 The App itself: The App’s source code, UI design, icons, trademarks, algorithms, and underlying technology are owned by us (or our licensors) and are protected by the Copyright Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Trademark Law, and international treaties. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use them for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
5.1 Your uploaded files are used solely to perform the conversion you request. They are automatically and permanently deleted immediately after conversion; we do not retain or back them up.
5.2 Although we adopt industry‑standard encryption and security measures, please understand that the Internet is inherently insecure. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data breaches or loss caused by force majeure, hacker attacks, network failures, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
5.3 Important: Please do not upload files containing state secrets, core trade secrets, or other materials prohibited by law. You are solely responsible for evaluating the legality and sensitivity of the content you upload.
6.1 The Services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”. We make no express or implied warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, availability, or timeliness of conversion results. Due to the complexity and compatibility variations among different file formats, the converted files may deviate from your expectations (e.g., layout shifts, encoding loss). You should verify the usability of the output before relying on it.
6.2 We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:
Use or inability to use the App;
Conversion results that do not meet your expectations;
Interruption or corruption of files during upload, conversion, or download due to network issues;
Unauthorised access to your files by any third party.
6.3 The App does not review or moderate file contents. We assume no responsibility for the legality, authenticity, or accuracy of the files you upload.
7.1 The App currently offers free conversion services. We reserve the right to introduce paid premium features (e.g., faster processing, larger file support, batch processing) in the future, and will clearly disclose pricing and terms in advance via in‑App notices.
7.2 All paid purchases are non‑refundable except as required by law or as explicitly stated at the time of purchase. Specific refund policies will be shown on the purchase page.
8.1 You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the App.
8.2 If you violate these Terms or applicable laws, we may terminate your access immediately without prior notice and delete any files you have submitted.
8.3 Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that have accrued prior to termination (including, but not limited to, disclaimers, intellectual property provisions, and governing law clauses).
We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in laws, regulations, or business operations. The updated Terms will be posted within the App with an updated “Last Updated” date. If the revisions materially affect your rights or obligations, we may provide additional notice via pop‑up or email (if available).
Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, please stop using the App.
10.1 The interpretation, validity, and enforcement of these Terms, and any disputes arising therefrom, shall be governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (without regard to conflict of laws principles).
10.2 Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall first be settled through friendly negotiation. If negotiation fails, either party may submit the dispute to the competent People’s Court in the location where we are domiciled for litigation.
11.1 If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
11.2 Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
11.3 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App and supersede all prior oral or written communications and agreements.
