llanfoist afc was founded in 1895.

they won the league a few times (1967/68, 1984/85, 1989/90, 1990/91, 1991/92) but struggled since before they folded in the 2010s.

in the 80s they played in the gwent county league but played there home games at gilwern because there own pitch was too sloped.
