A camera is a light tight box with light gathering device and means of blocking unwanted or unnecessary light from reaching the sensitized material.
Basically, camera can produce image with its four (4) basic parts such as a light tight box, lens and shutter, holder of sensitized material.
The word "camera" originates from the camera obscura, a Latin term meaning "dark chamber," which was a precursor to modern photography. Modern cameras are essentially refined versions of this early image-projection device, serving as instruments for capturing photographs.
In Forensic Photography, the most ideal type of camera to used is SINGLE LENS REFLEX CAMERA (SLR) since it's light weight, compact and any kind of of lenses and accessories can be attached to it.
Viewfinder cameras are known for their compact size and ease of use. They are often considered the smallest and simplest type of camera, making them ideal for beginners or casual photographers. The viewfinder itself is a small peephole that provides a basic view of the scene, allowing the photographer to frame their shot. Below are some examples.
A prime example of a viewfinder camera is the Kodak Art Deco Bantam, a stylish camera from the 1947. It is a very small, in fact a pocket-sized camera, that uses a 828 film ( A film format that was popular in the early days ). It is a popular choice for capturing everyday moments.
The Braun Paxina 35 was a simple, basic, medium-format viewfinder camera which was first produced in about 1953. It was a typical snapshot camera for someone who wanted to take photos of special events or family holidays and didn’t want anything too complicated.

A Twin Lens Reflex (TLR) camera is a type of camera that uses two lenses of identical focal length. One lens is used for viewing the image, while the other is used to take the photograph. Both lenses are mounted vertically, one above the other. Below are some examples.
Rolleiflex is a brand of twin-lens reflex (TLR) cameras, manufactured by Franke & Heidecke in Germany. T The Rolleiflex TLR film cameras were also known for their exceptional build quality, compact size, modest weight, superior optics, durability, simplicity, reliable mechanics and bright viewfinders.
The defining feature is the twin-lens system: one lens for viewing (through a waist-level finder) and another for taking the picture. This design provides a direct, upright image in the viewfinder, although with a slight parallax error.

Press cameras were cameras used by photojournalists to document events, primarily during the early to mid-20th century. A camera loaded with sheet film. They are traditional of folding bellows design with a lens standard in an extendable baseboard. It can also be loaded with roll film and 70 mm film magazines and often coupled with range finders. It is large or medium format camera used by photojournalists to document events .They varied in size and format, ranging from relatively compact 35mm rangefinder cameras to larger-format models using roll film or sheet film.
