Fordo Privacy Policy

Last update: September 13, 2022

1. Introduction:

Thank you for using Fordo Services! We are committed to providing you with the best services. This Privacy Policy explains what information “Fordo” collects, how that information is used, and the choices you can make about that information.

2. Information We Collect:

A. Information You Provide to Us:

At various points in the Fordo experience, you may provide us with information about yourself. For example, when you create an account through the Services, you provide us with personal information like your name, email address, and phone number. You may also provide information about your gender, age, and password required to log into the app after signup.

The App requests permission to access the phone’s storage only to store images and the recorded audio file and play the recorded files afterward. The App does not access any other files or excess user information like text files, videos, or documents except the app-produced or stored media files only.

We collect device information (phone model, screen ratio, network status, network location, date & time) from the device. This information is collected to optimize the “Fordo” application and increase its performance via the latest updates and patches. This information cannot be shared with other users. Sharing a fordo list will not send the device information to another user.

Recording Audio - Microphone:

Fordo provides users with voice control features. By activating voice controls, you enable features such as searching for items using your voice. Voice control is only available for logged-in users. When you activate voice features, your voice input and other information will be sent to Fordo Server. This includes audio recordings and transcripts of what you say. Fordo also allows users to upload recordings of their voice as audio notes, or to help Fordo improve its voice control features. These recordings and their transcripts will similarly be stored by Fordo.

Fordo uses this data to recognize what you say, understand you better, provide you with the requested service, and/or take an action. Fordo may also use this data in other ways, for example, using your data to improve voice functionality on Fordo and to develop new voice features.

Fordo will begin receiving your voice input data when you press the action button or say the wake word (for voice search) when you hear an audible tone, and continue until Fordo has processed your search.

The device will indicate to you when Fordo is receiving your voice input, for example with a visual indicator or an audible tone.

When listening for the wake word, Fordo listens in short snippets of a few seconds which are deleted if the wake word is not detected.

Users can delete audio recordings that we store on our servers. For audio recordings added to a list as an audio note, the app provides features to delete the note or the whole list. For recordings of voice features, we provide a feature in the app to delete these recordings.

For recordings made of users' use of the voice controls (such as audio search), you may request to delete those recordings by emailing us here at fordosupport@scitechbd.com.

Location Information:

When you use the services, we may collect location data. For instance, if you allow the services to access location services through the permission system used by your device's mobile operating system, we may collect the precise location of your device. We use your location information to assist you in finding nearby stores or places to start an alert/reminder, for other similar purposes, and for analytics purposes. You can choose whether or not to enable the location tracking feature through the settings on your device, or when prompted by the “Fordo” mobile app. We may also infer your general location information, for example by using your internet protocol (IP) address. You can turn off location data collection by denying location permission from the dialog box that appears on the Fordo app home screen or you also can turn off location from the phone settings of the device you are using.

B. Technical Information about Usage of the Services:

When you use the Services or browse our sites, either through a browser or mobile app, we automatically receive some technical information - device and usage information - about the hardware and software that are being used.

Log Data:

When you use the Services, our servers will record information about your usage of the Services and information that is sent by your device. Log information can include things like the IP address of your device, operating system and/or app you are using, unique device identifiers, screens that you navigate to and app features that you click, searches that you run on the Services, and other ways you interact with the Services. If you are logged into the Services, this information is stored with your account information.

Third-party tools:

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to hunt unwanted crashes and ANRs (App not responding) during the “Fordo” app active use only. Here you can find the privacy policy (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy) of the firebase tool.

C. Children:

Our Services are not intended for children under 16 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information as defined by applicable laws. If we obtain actual knowledge that any information we collect has been provided by a child under the age of 16, we will delete that information to the extent required by applicable laws.
