1. INTRODUCTION & CORE PHILOSOPHY
Force Paste Anywhere ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. We believe browser utilities should do their job effectively without collecting, tracking, or transmitting any personal information.
This privacy policy explains what information the Extension interacts with, how permissions are utilized, and why each permission is strictly necessary for its functionality.
2. ZERO DATA COLLECTION
Force Paste Anywhere does NOT collect, store, sell, or transmit any user data:
• No Personal Data: We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, browsing history, or device identifiers.
• No Clipboard Tracking: The Extension does NOT monitor your clipboard history. Clipboard data is only accessed ephemerally in volatile memory at the precise instant you invoke a paste command (Ctrl+V / right-click Paste) on an input field, solely to insert the text into that specific field.
• No External Communications: The Extension contains no analytics, telemetry, third-party trackers, or background communication with external servers. It works 100% offline.
3. PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED & WHY THEY ARE NECESSARY
Are all of these permissions strictly necessary?
YES. Force Paste Anywhere has been purposefully engineered to require the absolute minimal set of permissions:
A. "storage" Permission
• Purpose: To save your personal extension preferences locally in your browser (e.g., whether the extension is turned ON or PAUSED, which websites you have chosen to disable it on, and your local paste counter).
• Necessity: Without local storage, your preferences would reset every time you close your browser or navigate to a new page.
• Where data is kept: All data is stored exclusively on your local device via Chrome's storage API and is never transmitted anywhere.
B. Content Scripts Injection
• Purpose: Content scripts are declared directly in manifest.json to allow the extension to intercept paste events in the capture phase on input fields before the website's blocking scripts can prevent them.
• Minimal Footprint: We do NOT request broad background "host_permissions", do NOT make background network requests, and do NOT inspect web traffic.
4. PERMISSIONS WE INTENTIONALLY DO NOT USE
To uphold the highest privacy standards, we have intentionally designed this extension WITHOUT:
• Broad Clipboard Access ("clipboardRead"): We do not request continuous clipboard access. Paste events are handled directly through standard DOM clipboard event parameters when triggered by you.
• Broad Host Permissions: We do not request host permissions in the background.
• Web Request Monitoring ("webRequest"): We do not inspect or modify your network traffic.
• Cookies Access: We have no access to your session cookies or credentials.
• Identity Access: We do not access your Google Account or identity.
5. SECURITY OF YOUR DATA
Because no personal data is collected or transmitted outside your computer, there is zero risk of data breaches, server-side interception, or third-party data sharing.
6. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If updates to Chrome or the extension necessitate any changes to this privacy policy, they will be documented here. However, our commitment to zero tracking and user privacy will remain unchanged.
