Clothing

What we wear is essential in ensuring we make the most of the outdoors and what nature has to offer, from splashing in puddles and streams to galloping around in the sunshine. Footprints will supply hammocks and branded outdoor waterproof trousers and jackets, however your child must also come along to nursery with the kit list below:

Kit List:

  1. a named water bottle
  2. a backpack that is suitable for outdoors that your child can carry without hindrance

Autumn/Spring

  1. One pair of comfortable trousers such as jogging bottoms or leggings
  2. One long sleeved t-shirt or top
  3. One thick jumper
  4. One fleecy zip up jacket (in the backpack, just in case)
  5. Wellies or sturdy closed toe shoes (which you don't mind getting wet and muddy!)
  6. Two pairs of socks (one thin pair of cotton socks to be worn first, with a thick wool or fluffy sock on top)
  7. Spare trousers and socks, placed in the backpack (more than one set of each plus underwear if toilet training)
  8. If your child still wears nappies then nappies (no pull-ups) and wipes

Summer

As Autumn/Spring above with:

  1. Only 1 pair of socks to be worn with wellies/boots
  2. A sun hat for sunny days
  3. Labelled sun cream to be kept in the backpack

Winter

  1. Base layer of thermal leggings and t-shirt
  2. Next bottom layer - fleece or other warm tracksuit bottoms
  3. First top layer - long sleeve t-shirt or thin jumper
  4. Second top layer - fleece jumper
  5. Third top layer - fleece jacket
  6. Neck scarf
  7. Hat and gloves
  8. Four pairs of socks (two thin pairs of cotton socks to be worn first, with a thick wool or fluffy sock on top
  9. Extra Jumpers to be packed in backpack for really cold days
  10. Snow boots or sturdy warm outdoor boots
  11. Spare gloves, trousers socks, in the backpack (more than one set of each plus underwear if toilet training)
