FOMS - Who Are We?
The Friends of Music of Shenendehowa (FOMS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer organization of parents, students, teachers and community members who support the Shenendehowa School District’s music programs. FOMS directly enhances the experience of all our student musicians, from elementary school through graduation! But we cannot accomplish our goals without support from committed parents and music lovers.
WHAT DOES MEMBERSHIP SUPPORT?
Coordinating the “Calls to Action” and organization of volunteers for music concerts and events – FOMS participation is critical to ensuring these activities are a success.
Hosting music workshops throughout the district.
Providing direct funding for the Jazz Festival, String Festival, NYSSMA, and other important opportunities for our students to showcase their talent and hard work!
Awarding pins to members of select auditioned ensembles and/or the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Providing three scholarships to graduating seniors.
Providing all seniors flowers at their last Shenendehowa concerts. FOMS celebrates and honors members of the orchestra, band, choir/chorus – all musicians!
Managing refreshment sales at the annual High School musical and providing water for the cast, crew and orchestra.
