You cleanse the filthy and call her your daughter
You chose the outcast and call him your friend
You free the possessed and call her your bride
You care for the fatherless and call him your son
You chose your family from unlikely places
Some may see your family as filthy, outcast, possessed, orphans
But they haven't seen you
Some see you as judge
Some see you as cruel
Some see you as distant
Some don’t see you or know you at all
But the ones who have seen you, those who know you, the ones you know
Know you as father
Know you as brother
Know you as husband
Know you as friend
And what do you see?
you see a family chosen
A family cleansed
A family free
A family called adopted sons and daughters
With God as their father, savior and friend
