Overview
FocusMail is designed to help users organize their inbox by identifying emails that may require action and presenting them as a prioritized task list.
FocusMail is built with privacy in mind. The extension processes email information locally within the user’s browser and does not collect, store, or transmit personal data.
Information FocusMail Accesses
In order to provide its functionality, FocusMail temporarily reads limited information from the user’s Gmail inbox, including:
Email sender
Email subject
Email preview text
Email metadata needed to determine urgency
This information is used only to generate a prioritized task list for the user.
Data Storage
FocusMail does not store email content, personal data, or message information on external servers.
The extension may store limited local preferences using Chrome's local storage, such as:
User settings
Selected scan time range
Selected Gmail categories
Completed task status
These settings are stored only on the user’s device and are never transmitted externally.
Data Sharing
FocusMail does not sell, share, or transfer user data to third parties.
Email data is never transmitted to external servers or services.
Data Collection
FocusMail does not collect personal information, including:
Names
Email addresses
Account credentials
Location data
Financial information
The extension only analyzes email metadata locally to generate a task list.
Security
Because FocusMail processes data locally within the user’s browser and does not transmit data externally, user email information remains private and under the user’s control.
