Focus Anchor is a Chrome extension that helps you stay on task by nudging you back to a tab you've marked as your "primary" focus.
DATA COLLECTION
Focus Anchor does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to any server. It makes no network requests and includes no analytics, tracking, or third-party libraries.
WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
The extension stores the following information locally, using chrome.storage.local, entirely on your own device: the list of tabs you've marked as "primary" (as URL patterns), and your settings (nudge threshold, notification mode, idle-pause duration).
This data never leaves your browser. It is not sent to us, to Google, or to any third party. Uninstalling the extension removes this data.
PERMISSIONS
Focus Anchor requests the following Chrome permissions, used only for the purposes below.
TABS: to read the URL/title of your active tab, so the extension can tell whether you're on a primary tab or have drifted to another one, and to switch back to your primary tab when auto-switch mode is enabled.
STORAGE: to save your primary-tab list and settings locally so they persist across browser restarts.
ALARMS: to schedule the timed check that fires a nudge after you've been off your primary tab longer than your chosen threshold.
NOTIFICATIONS: to show the "Back to your focus tab" nudge.
IDLE: to detect when your screen is locked, so the distraction timer pauses instead of nudging you while you're away.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL.
