Focsy ("we," "our," or "us") is a digital wellbeing application designed to help you reclaim your focus and productivity by blocking distracting apps and websites while providing insights into your device usage patterns. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information.
By using Focsy, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
When you create a Focsy account, we collect and store:
Personal Information:
Full name
Email address (used for authentication and account recovery)
Account creation date
Usage Data:
App usage statistics (which apps you use and for how long)
Website visit history (URLs and time spent on websites)
Blocked app/website access attempts
Focus session data (start time, duration, success/failure rates)
Daily focus goals and achievement metrics
Device information (device model, operating system version, app version)
Technical Data:
Crash reports and error logs
App performance metrics
Device language and timezone settings
Purpose: This data powers a future web-based dashboard that will provide deep, historical analysis of your behavioral patterns, helping you understand and improve your focus habits over time.
Focsy respects your right to complete privacy. If you prefer not to have your data stored on our servers, you may use Guest Mode:
100% Local Storage: All blocking rules, usage statistics, and preferences remain on your device only
No Account Required: No personal information is collected
Full Functionality: Complete access to core blocking and monitoring features
Your Control: Switch to Account Mode anytime, or delete the app to remove all local data
Note: Guest Mode data cannot be recovered if you uninstall the app or lose your device.
To function as a comprehensive distraction blocker and usage monitor (similar to apps like StayFree), Focsy requires specific device permissions:
Focsy uses Android's Accessibility Service API as the core technology for blocking distractions.
What We Use It For:
Real-time App Blocking: Detect when you open a blocked app and immediately overlay a focus screen to prevent access
Website Blocking: Monitor browser activity to block specific websites during focus sessions
Selective Content Filtering: Identify and block specific distracting features within apps (e.g., YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, Facebook News Feed) while allowing access to other parts of the app
Usage Monitoring: Track which apps you're actively using to enforce time limits and generate usage statistics
How It Works:
All screen content analysis happens locally on your device in real-time
We analyze only what's necessary to identify blocked content
Processing occurs instantly and data is not transmitted during blocking operations
Our Solemn Pledge:
We NEVER use Accessibility Services to:
Read your personal messages, emails, or chats
Capture passwords, PINs, or payment information
Monitor banking or financial applications
Track your location
Record your keystrokes outside of blocked-app detection
Access your photos, videos, or files
Spy on your device activity for any purpose other than focus blocking
Transparency: The Accessibility Service is required for Focsy to function. Without it, we cannot block distracting apps or monitor usage. This permission is used strictly and exclusively for the distraction-blocking functionality you've explicitly requested.
We request access to your device's usage statistics to:
Accurately track screen time across all apps
Enforce daily time limits you've set
Generate detailed usage reports and insights
Calculate focus scores and productivity metrics
This data shows us which apps you use and for how long, but does not reveal what you do within those apps.
Required to show our focus screen, blocking overlays, and usage reminders on top of distracting applications.
Used to:
Sync your usage data to our secure servers
Authenticate your account
Deliver future web dashboard features
Guest Mode: Internet access is only used for crash reporting and anonymous analytics.
Behavioral Analysis: Create personalized insights about your focus patterns and productivity trends
Goal Tracking: Monitor your progress toward daily focus goals
Historical Reports: Build long-term usage trends and habit formation analytics
Account Management: Authenticate your identity and recover your account
Service Improvement: Identify bugs, improve features, and optimize app performance
Local Functionality Only: All data remains on your device for blocking and monitoring purposes
Anonymous Analytics: Only aggregate, non-identifiable crash reports are sent to improve app stability
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
We use trusted third-party services to maintain app functionality and security:

Important: We configure these services to collect only the minimum data necessary. We do NOT share your specific app usage history, blocked content lists, or personal browsing data with these services.

Security: Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
We take the security of your information seriously:
Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption
Secure Storage: Account data is stored on encrypted servers with restricted access
Access Controls: Only authorized personnel can access server infrastructure, and they cannot view individual user data without explicit justification
Regular Audits: We conduct regular security reviews and updates
Local Processing: Sensitive blocking operations happen on your device and are never transmitted to our servers
No System is 100% Secure: While we implement strong security measures, no method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but commit to using industry best practices.
Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active
Account Deletion: When you delete your account:
All personal information is permanently deleted instantly
Usage data and analytics are permanently deleted instantly
Backup copies are purged instantly
Deletion is irreversible
Local Data Only: All data is stored on your device
App Deletion: Uninstalling Focsy removes all local data immediately
We may retain certain information if required by law, to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or prevent fraud.
You have the following rights regarding your data:

Right to Deletion: Delete your account and all data instantly via Settings > Account > Delete Account & Data in the app

Right to Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
Right to Restrict Processing: Request limitation of how we process your data

For EU users, we process your data based on:
Consent: You explicitly consent when creating an account and granting permissions

You may withdraw consent at any time by switching to Guest Mode or deleting your account.
Focsy is operated from Poland. If you are located outside Poland, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Poland or other countries where our service providers operate.
Poland may have data protection laws different from your country. By using Focsy, you consent to the transfer of your information to this country. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Focsy is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at ademladhari.dev@gmail.com, and we will delete such information from our systems.
Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature. Focsy does not respond to Do Not Track signals because we only track usage necessary for the app's core functionality (blocking and usage monitoring), which you have explicitly requested.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors.
How We Notify You:
Material Changes: We will notify you via email (for Account Mode users) or in-app notification at least 30 days before changes take effect
Minor Changes: We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Your Options: Continued use of Focsy after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy. If you disagree, you may delete your account or switch to Guest Mode.
Version History: Previous versions of this policy are available upon request.

If you switch from Guest Mode to Account Mode:
Your existing local data can be optionally uploaded to our servers
You will be prompted to consent to this data transfer
Once uploaded, the data is subject to this Privacy Policy's Account Mode terms
