The Story...
In 2015 Coach Patrick Cromwell wanted his athletes at Mount Tabor High School to receive the spotlight one night a year to highlight their athleticism, commitment and reward their Miles of Trials they put in during summer training for the upcoming Cross Country season. The rest is history as the say and Friday Night Lights XC Festival was born. The event has grown into one of the premier meets nationwide and is run with the strong staff and an army of Volunteers from Mount Tabor High School. The Town of Kernersville dedicates dozens of staff and countless hours to make the facility one of the premier XC venues anywhere. Twelve XC races are contested under the lights in a 5 hour window with a professional fireworks show to end the event. The atmosphere at FNLXC is simply unmatched. When athletes are not racing they are dancing under the lights in front of a wall of sound and lighting by the main stage. The course is illuminated by 32 highway towers and has over a mile of string lights. Athletes and spectators can refuel at ten food trucks or watch the special lighting effects going on during awards presentations and throughout the venue. The celebratory atmosphere and music is always focused on the main goal and that is RACING! Live race splits and final results are up instantly with Flash Results handling the timing.
Friday Night Lights is not just a XC meet. It is an Event!
