FMHS CRUCIAL CATCH
FMHS CRUCIAL CATCH
ONE MONTH. ONE COMMUNITY. ONE MISSION.
Fort Mill High School Crucial Catch, coordinated by the FMHS Athletic Booster Club, brings our school and community together each October in the fight against cancer.
Since 2013, FMHS has teamed up with the NFL Crucial Catch, the Carolina Panthers, and the American Cancer Society to raise awareness, promote early detection, and support access to cancer screenings and patient care.
Together, we’re making a difference — on and off the field.
Statistics / Highlights:
Raised $143,203 to date (as of 10/2025)
#1 in South Carolina, #2 in the Nation for fundraising
The 2025 Fort Mill High School Crucial Catch campaign was a powerful reminder of what happens when a school and community come together with purpose. Through school fundraising groups, merch sales, local businesses, and community partners, we are projected to raise more than $18,000, far exceeding our $15,000 goal!
Throughout the campaign, we came together at events across campus and in the community, celebrated at the Pink Out game, and proudly earned a win on the field, all while keeping the focus on raising awareness and support for those facing cancer.
Every fundraiser, donation, and shared message helped expand access to early detection, life saving screenings, follow up care, and hope for families in need.

This season's cause marketing campaign, Man Out of the Arena, underscores the NFL family’s ongoing commitment to making a meaningful impact beyond the field. It spotlights the character, leadership, and influence of players as they work together to inspire, connect, and uplift communities. The campaign aims to demonstrate how collective actions off the field reflect the league's values, while serving as a powerful force for unity and positive change.
Since 2009, the NFL and American Cancer Society have partnered on Crucial Catch to promote early detection, education, and access to lifesaving cancer screenings and patient care.
Fort Mill High School joined the effort in 2013 with in partnership with the Carolina Panthers. Each October, our Athletic Booster Club unites our school and community for a month of fundraising to expand the fight against cancer.
Through Crucial Catch initiatives, the NFL has donated over $30 million, helping 1.8 million people and providing 762,000+ screenings across all NFL markets. These grants support follow-up care and improve early detection for breast, prostate, and other cancers, especially in underserved communities.
Crucial Catch is also addressing follow-up care for breast cancer patients through Links to Care Community Grants in select NFL team markets. These grants help community health centers and NFL team-affiliated hospitals provide timely follow-up treatment, improve appointment availability, scheduling, patient navigation, and tracking for completed screenings.
Last season, the Prostate Cancer Screening IMPACT ECHO initiative helped healthcare providers improve early detection and screening practices, reaching 40,000+ patients. Learn more
In 2025, Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute Institute received a $30,000 grant from Crucial Catch funding to expand breast health services for uninsured women through the LCI Cancer Outreach team.
These funds will support Project Pink, Atrium Health’s program for breast health education, screenings, and follow-up care for uninsured and underinsured women. Last year, Project Pink served 1,000 women. The grant will fund additional mammograms, follow-up care, transportation, and community outreach, directly helping local women in need.
