Pronouncement: 

• In a significant event note, can be done with 

  • dotDEATHCERTINFO or 

  • PATIENT DEATH NOTE UCH IP from smart text box

  • allows input of information that will later go into death certificate

Discharge summary: 

• choose "discharge summary deceased" for the note type

• document using dotFMCMEDDC

Death Certificate: 

• Faculty may receive a request via email or decedent affairs may be able to serve as a proxy to sign death certificate

• State Law requires completion within 72 hours
