An Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) is a requirement for pilots whose instrument rating currency has expired and who wish to act as pilot-in-command under instrument flight rules (IFR). The IPC is designed to assess a pilot's knowledge and skills in the operation of instruments and avionics systems. To remain current for IFR flight, pilots must complete at least six instrument approaches, holding procedures, and intercepting/tracking courses within the last six calendar months - also known as the "66 hits." By completing an IPC, you will demonstrate to yourself and others that you have the knowledge and skills necessary to safely fly in IFR conditions. Contact me to schedule your IPC today and get back to flying with confidence.Â
