Meet Your Interventionist
First, I’d like to say that it is a pleasure to serve your scholar! I have been an educator for 6 years, and I have worked with grades ranging from K4 to 8th grade. Over those years I have served students enrolled in Milwaukee Public Schools, Brown Deer Public Schools, and Whitefish Bay Public schools. I currently work as a 3rd Grade Educational Assistant at Milwaukee College Preparatory School. I am in the final stages of completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.
As a parent and teacher—I have witnessed the frustration of trying to assist your child in meeting common core standards in schools. It can be increasingly difficult as you try to navigate what they even consist of. Since I work with preparing students for these benchmarks daily, my goal is to assist families even further, by PREPARING your scholar for the next grade, PRACTICING skills and Reading and Math, and PROVIDING professional service to families at all time.
I am able to assist your scholars with preparing for the upcoming grade. This service is for scholars that are not behind in any subjects, but would like to practice.
Students that have an established IEP can also have an extension of assistance with Fluorescent Futures. I am able to follow the guidelines in the Individualized Education Plan to assure that your tutoring is an extension of their learning experience.
My goal is to ensure that your scholar is getting the help they need with core subjects, and that you—the parent, receive the most professional service at all times.
I serve scholars that range from K4-4th grade in Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics. I have experience in most curricula offered in the State of Wisconsin and will support your child’s teachers and educational team with their needs.
Middle School Reading
Families with Middle School scholars have the same options in Reading as elementary scholars. My services include assistance with study skills to ensure scholars not only receive the information taught, but retain it.
Post High School Planning for High School Scholars
High School scholars that desire to go "To College and Beyond" have the opportunity to get assistance in two sessions. The beauty of this service is that even Freshman scholars can take advantage of it!
Session 1: "Who I am, What I want and Where I'm Going"
We discuss their "Mission Statement." This appointment is meant to ignite self awareness and promote a higher/individualistic way of thinking about their future.
Session 2: "This Is how We Do It"
We create a career pathway and determine where the scholar wants their life to go after high school.
This service includes:
Resume and Cover Letter
College Application/Essay Assistance
A Portfolio of What We Worked on in both sessions
Fluorescent Futures can help your family with all of their learning needs! In addition to Reading and Math interventions, I provide document editing (college papers, proposals etcetra) resume creation (editing), and preparing parents to assist their children with academics.
