Inner' Flow is perhaps the most challenging project I’ve undertaken since my first game in 2023. This one-button game has a very specific theme and objective, which, in my view, made it the most complex project to complete successfully.
The one button game project, directed by Julien Fournier, had many challenges and subtleties that our class needed to handle to prove that games are not made with only the objective to create a game only to play it. To be more precise, we needed to think about something that players can learn throughout their experiences on mobile everywhere.
The objective was to impact a huge number of people, but also make it like an experience. Learning by playing, to create challenge, and fun !
With my personal experience, I decided to aim my project on the breathing theme. A common sense that everybody has. Nonetheless, the most majority of people don't use it correctly to calm their inner mind and soul. Using your breath like a way to calm all your beats inside your body : this is why I decided to create Inner' Flow.
As I mentioned it before, this project was a real challenge for many reasons :
This was our first mobile game to create among all the projects during my 1st year.
We were prohibited to use the slide or any inputs controls with the UI.
The project needed to be a serious game, we need to learn something no matter what.
We had 3 weeks to create the game : assets, game feel and polish included
To entertain players, I decided to make Inner' Flow a rhythm game ! With an amount of BPM already setup by myself in the game. The objective is to follow the breathing sound by holding your finger on the screen during 1 minute !
