Flora Poon

I am currently a postdoc working on Algebraic Geometry at the National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS), situated inside the National Taiwan University campus in Taipei, Taiwan. My mentor is Professor Hsueh-Yung Lin.

Previously, I was a PhD student supervised by Professor Gregory Sankaran at the University of Bath, United Kingdom. I received my degree in August, 2024.

My research interests are on the coarse moduli spaces of abelian varieties and K3 surfaces. My thesis is about the geometry of the Kuga-Satake varieties of some special families of K3 surfaces with Picard Rank 14. The problem demonstrates the modular interpretation of the correspondence between type II_4 and type IV_6 Hermitian symmetric domains.
