FlopsMonitor Privacy Policy

Introduction

Thank you for using FlopsMonitor ("the App"). The App is a device compute-power and hardware performance monitoring tool that detects and displays the floating-point operations capability (FLOPS) of your CPU, GPU and NPU, along with memory, storage and other hardware information, all locally on your device.

This Privacy Policy is published in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and the Google Play Developer Program Policies (including the User Data policy). It explains how the App collects, uses, stores, shares and protects information.

Please read this Policy carefully before using the App. By downloading, installing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using and uninstall the App.

1. Information We Collect

The App follows the principle of data minimization. Other than what is described below, the App does not actively collect any of your personally identifiable information (such as name, phone number, ID number, bank card details, contacts, photo album, photos, videos, files, location, or payment information).

1.1 Device information read for core features (local only, not uploaded)

To display device compute power and hardware status, the App reads the following information locally on your device, solely for on-screen display:

This information is only cached in the App's memory for display. It is not written to files and is not uploaded to the developer or any server. Debug information generated during hardware detection is output only through the Android system Logcat and is not transmitted anywhere.

1.2 Information the App does not collect

The App does not collect or upload: identity information, social or communication information, photos/videos/files, location information, or payment information. It also does not collect crash logs or usage analytics/statistics. The App does not integrate Firebase, Crashlytics, or any crash-collection or analytics SDK, and it has no self-hosted server.

1.3 Language preference

The language you select in the App is stored only locally on the device (via SharedPreferences) and is not uploaded.

2. Third-Party Services and Advertising

2.1 Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)

The App displays ads through Google AdMob, including:

AdMob is an advertising service provided by Google. Under Google's privacy policy and related terms, it may process information necessary for ad delivery, which may include the device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID), device model, operating system version, IP address, coarse (approximate) location, and app usage information, used for ad serving, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and measurement. This information is collected and managed directly by Google and is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and AdMob terms.

You can manage advertising in the following ways:

App open ads follow Google's "App open ads" guidance: they are shown only when the App enters the foreground, not during in-app screen transitions; they are not shown repeatedly back-to-back; and when loading or display fails, the App silently proceeds without ever blocking normal use.

2.2 Other components

The App uses AndroidX, Google Material Components, ConstraintLayout, and AndroidX Lifecycle — user-interface and lifecycle libraries that do not collect your personal data. The App does not integrate any third-party ad SDKs (such as CSJ/Pangle or GDT/YouLiangHui), nor any payment, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

3. How We Use Information

We use information only for the following purposes:

We do not use the information to send spam marketing, build user profiles, or share data with third parties for monetization (ad serving itself is operated by Google under its own policies).

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

5. Data Storage, Retention, and Security

6. Data Deletion and Your Rights

Because the App does not store data that identifies you on its own servers, there is no cloud-based per-user deletion to perform; advertising-related data is managed by Google under its policies.

7. Permissions Used by the App

The permissions requested by the App and their purposes are listed below. The core monitoring features do not depend on network access; the following permissions all serve advertising:

Permission

Purpose

android.permission.INTERNET

Used by the Google AdMob SDK to load banner and app open ads

android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Used by the AdMob SDK to detect the device's network connection state

com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID (incl. ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ATTRIBUTION / TOPICS)

Accesses the advertising identifier for ad serving and attribution; on Android 13+, users can reset or disable it in system settings

android.permission.WAKE_LOCK, android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE

Introduced by the play-services-ads SDK; the App itself does not use foreground services

8. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience of all ages. It is not specifically designed for minors (in particular, children under 13) and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App displays ads, if you are a parent or guardian and do not want a minor to receive personalized ads, you can guide them to disable ad personalization or delete the advertising identifier in system settings. If you become aware that a minor has provided personal information without consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time based on changes to laws, Google Play policies, or App functionality. Updates will be posted in the App or on the store listing; material changes will be brought to your attention in an appropriate manner.
